If I wanted to watch one player dominate on the floor, I'll go watch the NBA.

I'd rather see two teams duking it out at each, playing tough defense and running their offenses that take up time on the shot clock over some hotshot player coming down and chucking up a shot

Why does Thad Matta's head/face resemble a basketball?

Watch Ohio State play and tell me that is awful basketball to watch. They are about as entertaining as it gets out of a few Top 5 teams.

Big 10 is solidly the second best conference this year
I usually watch some Michigan State action, and they are just as bad. Don't even get me started on Indiana and Illinois. I haven't had the pleasure of watching Ohio State play this year, but admittedly my CBB interest has not been there with me moving from Baton Rouge to NYC a few weeks ago and my team being winless in the SEC.

It just seems like every game is 58-55 in that conference. Color me a generalizer but that's just what I get from the few minutes of Big Ten ball I can stomach each year pre tournament.

I've watched the Big10 all my life. They used to have great players in teams in the 80's and early 90's....Glen Rice, Steve Alford, Big Dog, Flying Illini, Fab Five, Calbert Chaney, Shawn Respert, etc. It seems like after the mid-90's the Big10 stopped getting "superstar" players. They became more of a plodding league with guys like Brian Cardinal, Reggie Evans (Yuck!), every Michigan State & Wisconsin team, etc.

Its not the most entertaining brand of bball. I mainly watch the Big East now (though I still watch the Illini).

The B10 style of basketball is not entertaining at all... frankly its like watching paint dry. But we typically hold teams pretty well under their season averages (IIRC someone did a study of the conference as a whole for the past 5-10 years) during March because of how much of a defense-oriented conference we play in.

            If I wasn't an Ohio State fan I wouldn't watch B10 basketball.

Yeah, aside from the 3-guard Illini team from a few years back that had Dee Brown 2, Luther Head and Deron Williams, I haven't really been eager to watch a Big 10 team in years. I can get up for random college basketball games for great teams, or even exciting ones, but there just hasn't been a reason for me to watch B10 basketball since then.

I miss the days of Scoonie Penn and Michael Redd, for one. The Big Ten since the turn of the millennium has been like Senser said a conference that plods along until the tournament and may have one or two surprise teams and the usual run by Michigan State. The conference top to bottom is not as talented and only looks "tough" because they beat up on one another.

Switching focus to March I'm not sure how many teams the Big 10 will field or how far they will go. If I had to pick right now I'd say three make it to the sweet 16 (Purdue, Mich St., Ohio St.) one makes it to the elite eight (Mich St.) and none to the final four.

I'm watching MSU-IU right now and it's been a terrible game. IU went 10 minutes without a FG. That shouldn't even be possible.

But teams like Purdue Ohio State and MSU (when they aren't playing shit teams) are worth watching.

Purdue - Ohio State tomorrow is as good as most Big 12 or Big East matchups.
