I hate when white guys get God status when they've pretty much done nothing (or not much).
Justin Smith is what he is - a good football player.
He's not a franchise player, nor has he ever been a franchise player.
Jared Allen is a franchise end ... Justin Smith is ok.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

I forgot Justin Smith even existed before this thread.Comment

Nobody is going to offer Seymour a hefty long-term contract at his age. He is on the decline. His best days are behind him. If he's looking for some big multiyear multimillion dollar contract then he is living in a fantasy land.
Especially considering there are plenty of premier d-linemen hitting the market (Peppers, Dumerville, Ray Edwards, Johnny Jolly, Kampman, Wilfork, Casey Hampton, Vanden Bosch, etc.). Whatever the Raiders are offering him is most likely more than fair.Comment

Anyway, as for the franchise tag and players being unhappy about it... yes it's a lot of money they get.. but imagine you are stuck at work.. considering most of this site is 16-20.. let's just say you're employed by a fast food joint or a shitty store in the mall and you are chomping at the bit to get out there. Let's say that job increases your pay but makes it to where you are stuck there another year... would probably kind of suck right?
Yeah.. I realize for millions of dollars playing football.. it might be a little different. But if you were eager to leave and sign with whatever team you wanted, and then you were forced to stay.. well.. that might make a player or two unhappy.Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment

^Right? It's more akin to moving from one shitty fast food joint to another (BK to Mickey D's or Taco Bell) than actually moving up or down...
He's not going to go from playing football to being an astrophysicist or something...
He's not going to get a better deal. Isn't the franchise tag the average of the top three salaries at that position? Longest deal he'll probably get at his age is three years. He better just take what he can get.Comment
