so far the rams d-line picks haven't panned out, and if we're talking last year bradford would of been the number 1 pick, the shoulder injury obviously is a problem, and he rushed back to the field which caused the 2nd one IMO, we'll see what happensComment

I think history will play into St. Louis' pick a bit. They drafted Adam Carricker and Chris Long back-to-back. And the defensive line is still bad enough to warrant the team to look at Suh/McCoy. When you have the first overall pick and you need a Quarterback, you just pray the right one is there. I still think the team is better getting out of the pick. It is an uncapped year, so a team might jump at it (TB, WAS, SEA)
EDIT: Oh and don't forget Jimmy Kennedy and Damione Lewis.Last edited by Maize; 02-25-2010, 11:47 PM.Comment

They were in the Washington, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Arizona, Chicago, and Houston games, maybe with a QB they win a few of them and aren't in the position they are in right now, COULD of been a 7 win team. but coulda shoulda woulda won't win games, just a thought.Comment

If Bradford is a franchise QB then I'd be okay with this. I don't watch enough college football, so I'll hang up and listen to the experts. I will say this, if Suh really is a once in a decade player as advertised, it would be a mistake to pass on him.Last edited by mcstl25; 02-26-2010, 12:03 AM.Comment

As a Lions fans this would be fantastic. We could fleece Tampa to move up one spot, let them take their boy (Suh) and we grab an extra pick.
Not that I'd be upset with drafting Suh...just sayin.Comment

Sven, you do make a good point and I love the idea of St. Louis drafting a Quarterback (as a fan). But is also just makes the most sense for the organization at this point. Then, if Bradford/Clausen goes #1, then Tampa might want to secure that they get Suh. Or, Detroit can shop the pick. Although "House of Spears" would be that franchise defensive player.Comment

The great teams build from the inside-out.
Of course the Rams are too stupid or short-sighted to see that.
Yes picking a DT #1 is unglamorous, but it's the right move if the DT is clearly the best player in the draft.
The offensive and defensive lines are paramount to a team's success, something the Detroit Lions should know by now.
I am not knocking Sam Bradford, but clearly he's damaged goods ... and the Rams have a decent QB in Marc Bulger. The Rams need to work on the fundamental positions before investing a $40M bonus in a QB with two shoulder surgeries in one year who's going to need a year of study coming out of a spread offence.Last edited by dave; 02-27-2010, 01:52 AM.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

Marc Bulger's record the last three seasons is like 5-31.
JaMarcus Russell has more victories in two seasons, than Bulger has in three, so spare us the whole 'Marc Bulger is a decent quarterback.' He's a hot bag of shit.Last edited by Nukleopatra; 02-27-2010, 02:12 AM.Comment

Like Owen previously said, he has played in multiple sets, not just Shotgun and actually has good footwork working from under center. But the three knocks on Bradford are:
1. His arm strength; People compare him to Chad Pennington in this sense because he can be very accurate, but has a noodle for an arm.
2. The injury issues; this is big because the Rams don't have a great OL to begin with, so how long would he hold up?
3. He made 1 read in the Oklahoma offense; So many times he would snap the ball and release right away. Even in non-shotgun snaps he would just make one read and a quick throw. So how will he react when he has to make several reads? Also he loves to stare down his receiver before throwing it.
I think he could possibly turn into a serviceable Quarterback, but I don't think he will save a franchise. Suh and McCoy have hype surrounding them and seem to be players who will bring success instantly with them. I think if they go Quarterback they should go Clausen, IMO.Comment

Also, Kurt Warner had a total of two bad seasons in St. Louis. Marc Bulger hasn't been over .500 as a starter since 2004. Isn't it time to send this guy packing? Why the fuck do we get the pleasure of being stuck with this asshole for so long? Words cannot describe how fucking awful Marc Bulger really is. JaMarcus Russell takes so much heat for being as bad as he is, yet he's better than Marc Bulger. What exactly is it about Bulger, that still has a few of you believing he's anything but complete trash?
Watch the guy once - he's shot. He has no confidence, no accuracy, no arm, awful decision making. Are you telling me Sam Bradford can't win 5 games in 3 seasons? L M A O.
Feel free to question who the Rams should draft, but using Marc Bulger is a 'decent' QB as the reason they shouldn't go quarterback, is complete fucking stupidity. He's one of the top 5 worst starters going right now.Last edited by Nukleopatra; 02-27-2010, 02:13 AM.Comment

In my opinion, if you're gonna spend that kind of money on the cap, spend it on a more sure thing. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000
