    Official 2010 Free Agency Thread

    40 mintues away...

Skins close to a deal with Peppers?
Lance Zierlein of KGOW in Houston reports that the Redskins are "charging hard" after free agent Julius Peppers and that a deal is close.
Zierlein "expects a deal to be done" by Friday. It's worth noting that Zierlein, the son of former Steelers offensive line coach Larry, reported days before it happened that Albert Haynesworth would end up in Washington. So it appears he's got some legit sources inside the organization. We still wouldn't rule out the Bears or Eagles swooping in at the last minute.

    Bears already neogotiating with Rolle

    Rolle
The Bears have already begun contract negotiations with free agent FS Antrel Rolle.
It's been just hours since the Cardinals released him, so the Bears are getting down to business promptly. Ideally, they'll have Rolle signed up before the free agent market opens at midnight ET, and will be able to turn their attention to DE Julius Peppers at that point. According to the Chicago Tribune, a deal with Rolle "could be in place within the next few hours." Mar. 4 - 8:08 pm et

    Falcons Likely to land Robinson
NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports "all indications are" that the Falcons are likely to sign free agent CB Dunta Robinson.
Atlanta realizes its biggest need is cornerback, targeting the Texans' 2009 franchise player and re-signing incumbent LCB Brian Williams to a one-year deal on Thursday. The terms of Robinson's deal likely won't be revealed until after midnight tonight. No. 2 UFA cornerback Leigh Bodden's market will then be set, although he'll probably get a shade less guaranteed.

Rolle Has 5 Year Deal on the Table from Miami?
Rolle already has a five-year offer on the table from Miami, on top of his contract talks with the Bears. Meanwhile, the Fins plan to use the money they save with Joey Porter's Friday release (it isn't "official" yet) to lure Dansby in. As to Rolle, the Giants are expected to match the Dolphins' offer, if not trump it. Arizona appears to be on the outside looking in.

Rolle is visiting NY later today

According to another source, the Dolphins offered the safety a five-year contract Thursday evening, shortly after the Cardinals released him to avoid paying a $4 million roster bonus. However, the Dolphins' offer was under the $8 million per year Rolle is seeking. The New York Giants are expected to offer that much when Rolle is expected to visit Friday morning.

                    Robinson will visit Atlanta today.

Via Adam Schefter's Twitter he's saying the Bears should have Peppers and that Chester Taylor will be visting. Jim Schwartz showed up at Kyle VB's house (LOL) so he should be a Lion. Packers OT Chad Clifton will visit Washington.

Filed to ESPN: Lions wasted no time getting on the board. Free-agent WR Nate Burleson reached agreement with Detroit on a five-year deal.

Per Adam Schefter. And yes, he is the NFL God, I've always liked Schefter.

good pickup, 25 mil a year and 11m guaranteed is steep tho.

Per Julius Peppers agent the Bears have made an impressive offer and Peppers may not leave Chicago, if he does his Agent says Philly is his next stop.

Aaron Kampman to Seattle rumors are swirling.

Dunta Robinson's deal should be done before sunrise.

Pennington refuses Miami's offer, wants a no-trade clause.

really hope Detroit signs Thomas Jones, Ryan Clark, Kyle Vanden Bosch or Kampman, then we might have a halfway decent team.
