    Ravens Close to Landing Boldin

The NFL Network reports that the three-team race for Anquan Boldin is down to two: Kansas City and Baltimore. It could be down to one team soon enough.

SI's Peter King writes that the Ravens are close to making a deal for Boldin.

The Patriots, who were briefly mentioned as favorites earlier in the day, have reportedly dropped out of the bidding. It's possible they didn't like to be used as leverage in other negotiations.

Trade compensation was never going to be the tough part in acquiring Boldin. Coming up with a contract that would satisfy the seven-year veteran is far trickier.

It's beginning to look like Baltimore is going to do just that, adding a much-needed weapon to Joe Flacco's arsenal. We wonder if Derrick Mason would still fit in Baltimore.

This will be good for The Ravens and great for Flacco's progression as a QB.

I was holding out hope for a second round pick, but the fact that Boldin had some say in where he wanted to go I figured that this was the gonna be the best deal on the table. I can live with it, but I didn't like that they had to give up a fifth rounder. The Ravens win this deal, but I really hope the Cardinals can hit on those draft picks.

      Bye bye, Q.

              Fuck Benn.

Bring back Mason. We already brought back Clayton.

              1. Boldin
              2. Mason
              3. Stallworth
              4. Clayton
              5. ---- late receiver (Ex. Shipley)

I say we use that first rounder on a DB, then a 2nd on a receiver.

Is it me, or were Cromartie and Boldin steals for their new respective teams? Seems like they gave little up in exchange. I figured Boldin was a 2nd rounder for sure.

As of right now it is a steal in my eyes. However, we won't know till after he plays a season or 2.

I think Boldin was a steal. I thought the Pats were gonna trade a 2nd for him at first but I guess they backed out. Hopefully the Pats can try and lure Derek Mason to New England.

As for Cromartie, I think he is overrated and that the Chargers got fair value for him.

I love the pick up, but I think I'd rather have Marshall. Either way, this is a step in the right direction. Now get a CB as the first pick in the draft.

Also, I don't understand bringing Clayton back. He has done nothing to help the team. I think that was a dumb move IMO.

They still need other WRs. Boldin has been hurt in past years. Hope he can stay healthy but he can't be the only vet/proven guy we have. Clayton at least has experience as a starter, trust him more than I would Stallworth. This is of course if we don't manage to keep Mason around.

And Bmore I would rather a DE/OLB pass rusher in the first than a DB.

Probably could've gotten more for Boldin but :dontknow:
