He might go to KC. We like to make dumbass moves like that.
Derek Anderson's next home?

I can see him potentially going to Seattle so they don't have to invest a high pick in a rookie QB and use that pick elsewhere. There is no fire like passion

Derek Anderson is weird to me. I just don't understand how a guy can go from making the Pro Bowl one year while throwing 29 touchdowns, to losing your job to Brady Quinn and throwing 3.
The guy has progressively gotten worse each year:
2007: 298/527 (56%), 3787 yards, 29 TDs, 19 INTs, 82.5 qb rating.
2008: 142/283 (50.2), 1615 yards, 9 TDs, 8 INTs, 66.5 QB rating.
2009: 81/182 (44.5), 888yards, 3 TDS, 10 INTs, 42.1 QB rating.
How does that happen?
That said, this guy has literally made a few million just because he had 1 good season.Comment

Derek Anderson not only has a better win/loss % than Jim Zorn, but his completion % and QB rating are both right on par, as well. Anderson also has the same number of seasons where he threw more TDs than interceptions as Jim Zorn (two.) If given the opportunity, I'm fairly certain he'll be able to surpass that.
I'm just throwing these stats out there, for the fans of whoever may land Anderson in the future - not all hope is lost, because, well, Jim Zorn was a good quarterback.Comment

People seem to think QB play exists in a vacuum. It doesn't. There are mitigating factors to production across all positions, but especially the QB position.
People act as if guys like Marc Bulger & Matt Hasselbeck (and to a lesser extent, Anderson) forgot how to play. They didn't. As supporting casts deteriorated around them, combined with age/injuries, you see guys "decline". It's not coincidental.
The Browns best WR's last year were a special teams player (Cribbs), a two-way player (Furrey), and a rookie nobody ever heard of (Massaqui, or whoever you spell it).Comment

I dunno, if he can get back to 07 form with a nice O-line in front to create the pocket he desperately needs, he might be ok if he can get the Cardinals team itself to trust him with the ball in his handsComment

Originally posted by Big ADI think he really just got comfortable and good with the offensive scheme in cleveland and might not be as good as his stats portray him to be.
Derek Anderson had ONE good season in Cleveland and that's because up until that point, no team really seen him on the field. I think when you carry that element of surprise you can sneak up on guys like he did in 2007. It would've been nice to see him at least shown that flash more then once, but that's not the case.
To be honest, his best chance to bounce back would be Arizona. For whatever reason he made Braylon Edwards look half decent in '07 and guys like Fitz and Breaston could help him and that long ball make some noise.25-02, 23:16 Yawkey Way celtics fucking suckComment

Originally posted by Big ADI have no idea what Im talking about with this guy, as all ive seen him in are Steelers vs Browns games, which really, is not a very good indicator of his talent whatsoever because even Flacco and Palmer arent good against them when they are against other teams.Comment

D.A. would be headed to tampa if chucky was still there but I think in reality Oakland might be a place he could go. You know Al likes to get guys who were great at some point.

Don't sell yourself short, I'm sure many people here value your opinion of Derek Anderson. It goes without saying that you've been watching coaches film of all the Steelers v. Browns games in order to learn WR movements and positioning by focusing on Limas Sweed, so you are probably the expert on all things football-related. After watching so much film, would you agree with my sentiment that Ben Roethlisberger's success is due to the great running attack of Franco Harris, Rocky Bleier, and Sidney Thornton?
