    the_obst's 3 round mock draft

Here is the 3 round mock draft I just finished. I was too lazy to type out my explanations for every pick in this, but if you have any "WTF, WHY HIM" picks, just ask me and I'll type up my explanation.

Why Kam Chancellor to the Bears? He is in no way a FS. He doesn't have the speed and instincts to be a good FS in the NFL.

From what I have him seen of him, plus who else was on the board, I thought he would be the best upgrade for the Bears at free safety.

I could care less about page hits, but I do care about transferring over 3 rounds of picks and spending the time to make it look neat.

Looks good. I always like to see other mocks. One thing that stuck out was Taylor Mays falling to round 2. Anything about his stock made you have him drop off?

I think teams recognize his poor coverage and lack of pure tackling skills. He's very raw, a team might gamble on him, but at this point, I think he will be one of those guys who slide to the second round.

I think the 49ers have a bigger need at OT than OG

I feel very confident saying that if Spiller and Earl Thomas are available, there is no way Miami is selecting Dan Williams at 12. In fact, I've been reading a lot of draft stuff for Miami, both in articles and on the forum, and I've never even heard of Dan Williams.

And I seriously doubt the 49ers get both of them. I believe Spiller, as much as I would like the 49ers to get him, is a pipe dream.

                          1. CB Kareem Jackson, Alabama
Not exactly the team's biggest need, but it fits the MO of drafting a year ahead (McFadden). I like Jackson a lot, and he has a rapport with the new DB coach Donnie Henderson. Good pick.
                          2. LB Sean Lee, Penn State
Personally not big on Penn State LBs because durability is always concern, but Lee can play and instantly fills the WILB spot. Good pick.
                          3. DE Tyson Alualu, Cal
You forgot that the Cardinals have the Raven's third round pick. Good rotation lineman and I'm a fan of Alualu, but the Cardinals are already strong at defensive end. Bad pick.
                          3. OT Jason Fox, Miami (FL)
I don't expect the Cardinals to go with a tackle early seeing as Grimm has had his projects in the wings with Brandon Keith and Herman Johnson to take over for Gandy, and Jason Fox does not fit his mold of lineman. Grimm likes maulers. Bad pick.

The first two picks are good, but the last two aren't too hot.

I like the first three picks you have for New England. Not a big fan of Gronkowski though. Even though they don't have a TE on the active roster I hope we don't take one in the first 2 rounds just because a TE doesn't do much in our offense.

The way I can argue that is you guys in recent memory haven't had a big play receiving target at tight end. Having Moss, Damian Williams, Welker and Gronkowski could equal even more big plays for the Pats.
