    Jets after Marshall?

The Jets are having internal discussions regarding restricted free agent Brandon Marshall, sources tell Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post.
Lombardi says the Jets would "love to put together a package of players that might entice the Broncos and still keep their first-round pick." It's hard to imagine the Broncos giving up their petulant star without getting a top draft pick, but Marshall would be a dynamic book end for Braylon Edwards. This news also sheds some light on what the Jets think of Jerricho Cotchery.

I think I’d rather gouge my eye with a grapefruit spoon rather than talk about trading for Brandon Marshall, but Mike Lombardi at NFP won’t let me. This morning, Lombo is reporting that he’s hearing rumors that the Jets are still interested in Denver WR Brandon Marshall.

I keep hearing from my Jets sources that they’re having internal discussions regarding Brandon Marshall and would love to put together a package of players that might entice the Broncos and still keep their first-round pick.

    GAHHHHHHHHHH!

This dude was the INTENDED TARGET in the Darrent Williams murder.

Let that sink in. So this guy is alive and a decent human being is dead, because — well — Brandon Marshall acted like a bitch on New Year’s Eve, even inciting gang members to bring their guns. Guns which were used to murder his teammate. Nice.

Last year, the Broncos wanted David Harris from the Jets to make this move. If David Harris is part of a trade for a punk like Marshall, I’m going to riot.

I hate this idea for a variety of reasons, and I’ll detail them later, but here’s what I will say for now. Jerricho Cotchery is a damn good receiver, and I’d imagine that he’d be moved in the trade if they do this deal. That’s a HUGE mistake.

Second, Mike Tannenbaum likes to talk in flowery prose about “looking at the whole person” and pat his own organization on the back for moves like Laveranues Coles and others like Kris Jenkins. It’s clear that this organization now thinks it’s Boys Town and can redeem lost souls.

This move is nothing like those moves. The “whole person” is a douchebag, in this case Mike. Marshall is “manly” enough to (allegedly) beat women he’s been in relationships with, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. Marshall has also been cited for shooting a handgun at his own father. He’s a real class act. How would the team not bring in Matt Jones over substance issues last year but be willing to take a chance with this guy? It makes absolutely no sense to me.

Marshall is an incredible talent, to be sure, but it’s also carried onto the field. There was that video of him dogging it in practice, and then there was the benching he received in a game with playoff consequences. His actions, alleged or otherwise have proven, he’s trash. Strong words? Am I worried about libel? No, because the truth is an absolute defense.

That's a bitch argument from Jetsblog.

Brandon Marshall is a horrible human being? STFU. He was young and stupid and caught in the wrong altercation. All the Broncos were innocent, fucking Marshall didn't deserve to get shot either.

The fact is, Marshall is a great receiver and would immediately improve the Jets.

I see it this way. If they get Marshall while keeping Edwards we will have a ton of trouble with off the field issues.

Marshall, Edwards, Cromartie? Holy shit. All we need is Pacman Jones. Call the cops now...

Edwards has had one issue and it wasn't that serious. I've never heard anything about Cromartie, but I might have missed something.

Cromartie has has 7 children with 8 (?) different women. All children are under the age of 2 i believe.

I'm pretty sure Edwards has had run-ins before, just nothing major. He was a headache in Cleveland from what i heard. Even if it wasn't off the field.

Pretty disgusting but unless he fails to pay child support its none of our business and it doesnt effect him on the field at all. Braylon is actually a great person. I've seen plenty of interviews and he's a nice soft spoken guy. He doesnt have any attitude problems, plus he does a shit ton of great volunteer work.

So now that's considered off the field issues? Yeah right, the dude is smart. Spread the seed. I applaud him.

I wouldn't be that scared with no Jones and Sanchez still at the helm, unless he progresses dramatically, which I don't see happening.

Of course there's always the chance Greene is as good as he's made out to be, which would make the loss of Jones a moot point... and Sanchez would definitely improve after adding a weapon as good as Marshall to his team.

Jones was mr. I run into my blockers guy...ugh.

Marshall would be FTW quite honestly but I think the Jets are set to try to improve the pass-rush issue. (fuck Gholston).

This doesn't speak about what they think about Cotchery...Cotch would be an excellent slot WR...Marshall/Edwards/Cotchery/Keller is a dream at this point.

Cotchery would definitely be a lethal weapon at slot for Sanchez.

He also missed a bunch of others. Including one during the playoffs (?) that would have been a touchdown. It was pathetic.
