    How many athletes aren't really?

I mean MJ was one of the biggest assholes you'll ever hear about. I don't think there's been a guy less judged or scorned for literally physically assaulting teammates in practice. MJ was winning championships though so it was just him being a competitor etc. May be a stretch but I think you see the point I'm getting at.

If Clausen ever becomes a winner it will go from "cocky/prick" to "confident/fiery/leader overnight. That's true with a lot of guys though.

You have a level of maturity most kids your age (or guys who are 25 or so here) don't have.
Though your "I'd cheer for the Eagles if Mike Vick was the starter" put you on probation.
I'd expect that line from a nerdy white kid who thought he was a bad-ass gangsta.

Probably true, but war is always about the young. Better some young fuckhead 18 goes to the frontline than an old fart like me.

You do realize you've posted at MM and VSN right? I mean.....look at some of the 18 year olds here...
And they had a stunning turnaround at 21?

Disagree, kids are going to binge drink in college, high school or whatever regardless. The drinking age was 18 here in the states in certain states as little as 30 years ago and my parents were binge drinking etc no different than I did. They could just legally go buy it.
There are actually top-level college educators who believe the drinking age has caused binge drinking. That said, you have a point, I was binge drinking at 19 (the legal age in Ontario). I don't call it binge drinking at my age. I call it consistency.
      See above.

        XD Gracias amigo.

Well, can someone explain to me why I shouldn't like Vick? Why I should prefer Kolb's no-talent self? Cause I've been criticized for it twice in this thread and I still don't understand why. I mean, I can see how my logic can be perceived as flawed, but I also think Vick got the short end of the stick in the court of public opinion.

Like, I was watching the fucking Michael Vick Project (on BET, my second-least favorite station... after FOX News), and his little brother is an asshole. Like, Marcus Vick is a fucking hardhead. He's a consistent trouble maker. Mike has two strikes: he smoked weed and he killed dogs.

I'm gonna let the first one go for a lot of reasons.

The dog-killing is deplorable, but it's not the worst thing that was ever done. He shouldn't have done it, it was a terrible thing to do. I love dogs. I love animals, I just don't think it was that big a deal.

Maybe it's because I always liked Vick. Maybe it's because I'm a racist and I think he got fucked over by a black-hating system. IDK. Just someone explain to me why that's such a horrendous take on the situation.

What else has he done? I've never heard any of his teammates complain about him. The Ron Mexico incident maybe?

Also, lmao @ "I don't call it binge drinking at my age. I call it consistency."

This is why many here can't believe you're 15 - you write in complete sentences, literate, thoughtful.
You and that Packersfan kid give me a least a little hope for the future.

Calling Kolb a no-talent is unfair. At least let him play a season before you write him off.
I don't deny Vick is a talent, but the Eagles can't trust their rebuild to a guy who simply doesn't get it.
Frankly, why they're paying $5.2M this year to a gimmick player is beyond me.
Vick is 30 and undisciplined. It's over.
Frankly, I think the Bills should take a chance on Vick - neither side has much to lose. But the Eagles do have something to lose - they have young, impressionable receivers and are in a re-tool stage. Last guy I want leading that is Vick.

Complete sentences elude older members of VSN as well. Steeljake and ram29jackson come to mind.

Frankly, I'm impressed Steeljake writes as well as he does. He's maximized the best and last three years of his school life - Grade 5.
As for ram29jackson - not sure what he's maximized.

And there are some top level college educated people who believe in trickle down economics, global warming not being real, and all sorts of other shit that people disagree with. I also know there are college level educators that believe binge drinking has little to do with the legal drinking age and more to do with age in general. At that point where does that leave us?

All I'm saying is that if the legal drinking age when I went to college was 18....me, half my floor, and most of my class would be dead or waiting on liver transplants today.

Honestly, how hard was it to get beer or liquor when you were 18?
I could easily get either when I was 16.

You believe in global warming? That kinda surprises me.

...Eh well not sure how you can think that..the only reason Vick was in the court of public opinion to begin with was because of his actions which were beyond cruel..borderline psychotic..and at best revolting.

You do realize Vick's time in prison was mainly stemming from the interstate commerce charge under the RICO statute right? He was barely sentenced to anytime for the dog fighting itself. 95% of his time served as a result of the illegal gambling etc operation he had going. There was really nothing "racist" about it.

Illegally? Who knows. No one really does.

As a football player, while immensely talented naturally he had a horrible reputation for never studying film, refusing to put work in to do things like improve mechanics, accuracy, etc. Simple things leaders of teams do to set examples for the team and help them win games. I mean, look back to his 2nd season in the league and then look at his last full season with the Falcons. Was he really doing anything better as a QB? Did he ever truly progress? Outside of the uniforms and teams you'd be hard pressed to put in tape of Vick in 2002 and 2006 and tell the difference. That's a huge indictment on him and his work ethic.

Not incredibly difficult, but there were nights where I was helping strangers move couches for a bottle of vodka for a party and having to call in favors and seeing if my friends older sisters and brothers could buy it. Some nights I couldn't find a hook up at all.

Believe it or not, I used to be a progressive conservative.
But I truly believe conservative politics do not work now.
I still don't believe in universal welfare - if you're physically able to work, fucking work, even if it means cleaning toilets. In 23 years of working, I've had two sick days. Seriously. That's the conservative side of me.
Another conservative side - I don't want my tax dollars supporting the local ballet. Sorry.
Third conservative side - fuckers who diddle children, mass murderers, etc... should be killed. As long as there's undeniable proof.

Frankly, I think the Bills should take a chance on Vick - neither side has much to lose. But the Eagles do have something to lose - they have young, impressionable receivers and are in a re-tool stage. Last guy I want leading that is Vick.
Ya, he's not a no-talent. It is unfair. I just really like Vick.

I wish the Raiders had traded/would trade for him. Or Troy Smith. Somebody to backup Campbell besides BGrad.

How is Vick undisciplined? And, ya, the Eagles are overpaying him. But they're also overpaying Kolb, as I understand it.
