NBA: Don't care enough about it to root for anyone other than the Wizards. When they are out of contention by Christmas I usually stop watching.

MLB: I used to be a Mets fan dating back to the days of Mike Piazza, Hideo Nomo, and John Franco so occassionally I'll root for them still.

NFL: Redskins because it's the local team

NHL: I root for the owners who hopefully will decide to lockout the season

I would never cheer for any other team in the NFC East. That's heresy.
Mind you, the NFC North has the lovable Bears and Packers and the lonely loser Lions.
All those teams are preferable to the Cowgirls, Foreskins and Giants (can't think of a nickname).

weird story actually. i was at a party with family friends for the playoffs and the Titans were playing. an older kid said he liked them so to impress him i said he did too. then i started following them and fell in love with Steve McNair.
