NFL Quarterbacks Passing Trends on the Rise

The NFL has traditionally focused on even balanced attacks but recent stats show the trend has shifted. During the 2009 season a total of ten quarterbacks passed for over 4,000 ...

Article I came across looking into the trends of QB's statistical inflations over the past couple years.

Only two NFL QBs threw for over 4,000 yards in 2005 & 10 hit that 4K mark in 2009-check out this major trend change.

That's what happens when you can just toss the ball up knowing your untouched receiver will either make the catch or you'll get the yards in penalties. It probably helps that you can't be breathed on by a defender or that's a 15 yard giveaway too.

The second half of the article has nothing to do with QBs breaking records.

But back on topic.. yeah. You look at some of the greats of the NFL, and compare them to the stats of some good-great QBs today and you'll see a change.

You have Peyton Manning and the Colts to thank for that.
