I have no expectations for it, this team is so hard to read. I think im gonna go in fearing the worse, and if they win Ill be pleasantly surprised.

As for Robinson, he's much better equipped to run that offense than Forcier. LOL at thinking he needs to know how to read a defense. Vince Young, Pat White, Dennis Dixon and so many other mediocre passers have succeeded at running the QB read option before. I see no reason why Robinson can't at least give adequate production. It's the easiest read you can make, and if you are that athletic and can get that read right even half the time, either the QB or the RB are gonna spring for some big gains.

If the OL and backs aren't shitty, the read option can work with any fast QB.

If RRod can tailor the offense around him, then yea he should be able to at least be productive. The problem is the offense they used last year had a lot of pass plays, and if they try running that same offense this year, I dont know if I trust Denard to make those throws.

I am officially done with defending Rich Rodriguez because I think his time in Ann Arbor is over. I originally stuck up for the guy and wanted to give him a chance. It was nice to see that we were going in a new direction and I knew installing the spread would take a while.

It takes different "kinds" of players to run the spread RichRod is used to. I understood that and I gave it time. I don't understand why he couldn't adapt his scheme to the personnel. If he could do that, maybe we would have Justin Boren protecting Ryan Mallet.

I don't think any (realistic) amount of wins saves Rich Rod, I think David Brandon has already made up his mind. That being said, I still think we have a winning season with a lame duck coach:

          vs. UConn - L
          @ Notre Dame - W
          vs. UMass - W
          vs. BGSU - W
          @ Indiana - W
          vs. MSU - W
          vs. Iowa - L
          @ Penn State - L
          vs. Illinois - W
          @ Purdue - W
          vs. Wisconsin - L
          @ Ohio State - L
          Bowl Game - L

Then Mr. Brandon needs to go call Jim Harbaugh and Les Miles.

Uh, he does need to know how to read a defense if he's gonna throw the ball.

VY = One of the most dominant olines this decade and a deep stable of backs.
White = Steve Slaton, Noel Devine, that FB whose name escapes me, and a very good West Virginia oline led by a Rimington award winning center.
Dixon = Solid offensive line and Johnathan Stewart in the backfield next to him.

Denard Robinson = nada. Brandon Minor is gone, he's got a mediocre stable of backs and a mediocre oline.

Not when the defense is stacking the box because you can't throw the ball, especially when your line can barely block when the box is unstacked.

Yeah, not a big fan of Denard either. They should just throw Devin Gardner in there and have some fun. Hopefully Rich Rod is gone after this season.

I do believe the FB you are looking for is Owen Schmidtt.

So uh, Denard looked pretty good. Guess I'm wrong so far.

While he looked good, I wont believe in him until A) He proves he can come from behind. and B) He beats a Big 10 school...we started 4-0 last year, and where did we end up?

I think I said something along those lines in the Chatbox....you had to know he was going to transfer when he didnt get the starting job....Him being #3 on the depth chart just put the nail in the coffin.

Great post from a Michigan fan on the subject, copy/paste here:
thanks for the link. Tate's dad is just as big of a douche as Tate.

                              I LOVED this quote....

"He's going to play this season because there's no way Robinson can keep taking a pounding like that."

Instead of saying Tate will stop pouting like a little kid and he's going to play this season because he's going to grow the [expletive deleted] up and start putting in the work and maturity required to be a starting QB in the Big Ten this douchebag comes out and says oh, my kid will play because Robinson is going to get hurt. Unreal.

This dad is trying to live vicariously through his sons and he's ruined all 3 of them. I don't think Rodriguez is going to take to kind to Tate or his dad talking to the media after the game. I seriously think Tate might be asked not to come back.

Good riddance. Tate needs to man up and just shut up, go about his business and prove himself by working his ass off. You know, the way Robinson did.

Even if Denard gets hurt, RRod already showed his hand and went with Gardner. Apparently they are going with a more running scheme and Tate does not fit that mold.
