Who do you think is the best quarterback in college football?

Trying to generate some solid college football discussion in here to get amped up for the season.

Jake Locker may be the most physically gifted of the college quarterbacks with his Tim Tebow like frame and athletic ability but he has a much stronger arm to go with it.

Ryan Mallett has the strongest arm of the bunch but has the accuracy issues in big games that seemed to derail the careers of similar prospects like JaMarcus Russell and Kyle Boller.

Christian Ponder might not be the most gifted or exciting quarterback but his leadership and accuracy will remind many of Colt McCoy coming into his senior year.

Andrew Luck seems to be the current flavor of the week with people ready to annoint him the cream of the crop after one season at Stanford.

Terrelle Pryor is a Vince Young clone which a few years ago might have been a red flag.

Other guys worth mentioning: Jacory Harris, Matt Barkley, Nick Foles, Nathan Enderle

Personally I'm a big fan of Christian Ponder as I feel he's the most pro ready of the quarterbacks and he's the only one I'd feel confident putting under center as a rookie.

Kellen Moore deserves a mention in this thread

I could have listed a ton of other quarterbacks but frankly I rushed through it and wanted other people to have their input

I'm a big fan of Andrew Luck, I think he'll be a 1st round pick in a couple years.
Another guy a lot of people don't know about is A&M's Jerrod Johnson, he put up some pretty big numbers last year. I'm excited to see what he can do this year. Definitely one of the top dual threat QB's in the nation.

              locker.
"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

You think Christian Ponder is the most pro-ready?

                I like Luck.

I like Luck. I think he and Locker are up there as the best QBs in college football.

I think - unfortunately - Crist is talented and in a good system with Notre Dame. Granted, the spread is going to make him look overrated whether or not he is.

Keenum's talented and his pro prospects may be entirely dependent on how Kolb does for the Eagles this year. It could set a precedent for the ability and skill level of Houston-system QBs.

My favorite is Mallet from Arkansas. Not sure how. I actually haven't seen him play much, but he gets a lot of hype and I haven't heard anyone call him overrated.

And Pryor. I love his athleticism. I think if he broke from the trend and stayed for his senior year, he could learn the position better and become more pro-ready.

                            .

Wait until after the draft and you'll hear everyone call Ryan Mallett overrated. He's a white JaMarcus Russell who pads his stats against Sun Belt teams

Mallett is one cocky son of a bitch too. We played against him in HS and he talked shit the whole time.

But I've never in my life seen someone take 1 step drops from midfield and chunk it over the field goal post. His arm was unbelievable.
