    Notre Dame at #34.

Noticed Spurrier must not have voted for Duke the way he does every year as they have no votes.

Can't wait to see them play 14 exhibition games again.

I guess Sprurrier hasn't voted for Duke since before the 2008 season when he was asked not to.

I can live with #14. If we finish around there this season, I'll be happy.

Why is Alabama such a runaway favorite this year? They lost, what 8 starters on defense?

Nine starters return on offense, including the Heisman winner and the best backup RB in the country. The defense is getting the benefit of the doubt due to Saban's coaching/recruiting plus Hightower and Barron.

I'm all right with this poll. Got no complaints with where LSU is. OU seems a little high, though I know many are predicting a great year for them.

lol at schools like NIU, SMU, and even 4-8 ASU getting votes. im not saying Rutgers should get votes, but theyre better than all of those teams.

I know that but I don't get how they are such a runaway favorite with all of the holes they have to fill on defense... I mean OSU got a similar benefit of the doubt in 06, but even then our defense was exposed against legit opponents. With how much OSU, Boise, Texas, Florida, VT, etc are bringing back I'm pretty surprised Bama has such a stronghold on the #1 ranking.

Bama returned pretty much every vital piece from last years BCS title team... honestly, the only team with a legit argument is Boise, b/c they also went undefeated and returned almost every player... however, we live the real world, and Boise is still looked down upon (albeit not as much, but its still true)... also VT is overrated...

They lost 3 starting DB's, a key peice at DT, their best defensive player and the best return man in school history [arguably]

                            Those aren't vital peices?
