I kind of like em:
West Virginia will be one of ten schools to wear the new, innovative Nike uniforms. The ten schools that will wear the new uniforms are the University of Alabama, Boise State University, University of Florida, University of Miami (FL), The Ohio State University, Oregon State University, University of Pittsburgh, Texas Christian University, Virginia Tech and West Virginia University. Each team will wear the uniform for at least one game this season.
The Nike Pro Combat uniforms are engineered to provide superior protection and durability, while utilizing advanced fabrics and tooling that reduced weight. Nike worked with each university to bring relevant elements of the school’s rich heritage into the futuristic elite fit uniform designs. The collaborations with the universities produced the highly customized uniforms that will be revealed just days prior to the start of the 2010 college football season.

No word yet on what these special unis are going to look like, but it’s nice to see that Nike is making an effort to include WVU in these exclusive clubs.
Also, there is an executive at Nike that is from WVU, so it certainly doesn’t hurt in terms of us staying in touch with the latest and greatest. Here’s an artists rendering of a possible combination, but by no means is the finished product.
That said… Consider me a fan. I hope the end result resembles this closely. I mean… Why not?
