So Kyle Orton is just gonna drop 2 TDs on every team he face this preseason huh?
Kyle Orton's contract extended through 2011

I really like the way the offense is coming together even without our full complement of offensive lineman and absolute garbage in the backfield around Orton. It's just too bad that our secondary has looked pretty vulnerable in the first two games because I don't think we have the weapons on offense to out score people every week. The Dumervil injury may have sank any chance this team had of doing anything better than 8-8. But I am now of the opinion that it's Orton for the next 2-3 seasons, until Tim Terrific is ready to take over the reigns.

I was impressed with this strangely honest, mostly objective viewpoint:

No dumervile, no nolan, no marshall, not a great run game, a dink and dunk type of QB coming off a 2-8 finish to your previous season. The Broncos have fail written all over them. It's gonna be like the Lions from 07 to 08 (except to a lesser degree). Lions started 07, 6-2 and ended with a 1-7 record with a total record of 7-9 then bombed next season. Same thing will happen to the Broncos (and again, to a lesser degree, they won't go 0-16).Comment

Oh and the Dumerville injury isn't as HUGE as everyone thinks... Dumerville was a pass rush specialist not overall Great player. Him being out will hurt the D but not break it. The bigger issue that will factor in to wins and losses for this team is at RB.Comment

Oh and rest assured you will see McDaniels unleash Orton's deep ball this year. The only thing working against Orton is a shitty backfield. You guys laugh now at the 9 mil the Broncos gave Orton, but it's going to be even funnier when in the next two years Orton plays himself into a Matt Casselish contract for 2012.

tragic
To many, the thought of Orton being “the answer at QB” must seem like a joke. In his five-year career he has hardly inspired. In Chicago he couldn’t beat Rex Grossman(notes) to be the Bears starting quarterback. When the Broncos were trying to trade disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler(notes) and picked Orton over then Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell(notes), many in the Redskins organization soured even more on Campbell. If Denver wanted Orton over Campbell, then how bad must Campbell be?
I hope Campbell sticks around in Oakland long enough to catch all these Ls Ortons about to throw at him.Comment

Orton is a decent QB and a consistent winner. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

I don't care what he stats looked like last year, Kyle Orton is awful. He struggles completing anything beyond 15 yards, and will never be the type of player who can take a team to the next level. He's easily in the bottom third of NFL starters, and would make an average backup at best. Paying that sack of shit $9M is laughable, but this is the Broncos, who fired one of the best coaches in the business, hired a man child, and drafted a gimmick player in the first round.
Let's face it, no team is going anywhere with Kyle f'n Orton behind C.Comment

His 70-something lifetime QB rating makes 1970's QB's blush, and your "consistant winner" barely has a .500 record as a starter since he "led" the 2005 Bears with his super 9/13 TD/INT ratio, 50% completion percentage, and god awful 50-something QB rating, which led to him promptly losing his job to REX GROSSMAN, the same REX GROSSMAN who is buried so deep on the bench these days he may never take another meaningful NFL snap. And you could argue Grossman is a better player than Orton.
Simply put, Orton sucks.Comment
