Bryant returns to practice, continues to dazzle

Ted Madden of our sister property WFAA-TV describes a killer catch Dallas Cowboys rookie Dez Bryant made in practice, despite recovering from a high-ankle sprain.

Wrote Madden: Bryant and Martellus Bennett were playing catch before practice. Bryant has a good arm (he throws left-handed, by the way), Marty B has a less-than-good arm, although if you were to ask him he would blame a torn rotator cuff from high school.

Bennett threw one back to Bryant; it was a low throw, to Bryant's left., about 30 yards away. Bryant caught the ball, with only his left hand, just inches off the turf. Now, if he'd caught it with his palm facing up (basically cupping the ball), it would have been a nice catch. But he caught it with his palm nearly facing the ground - like you would if you were palming a basketball. Except that he wasn't just palming a football; he had caught a football from 30 yards away, falling to the ground, and he caught it on the top side of the ball. My first thought was, That looked like the Reebok commercial where Chris Chambers is showing off his hands. It was that good. There was a group of fans standing nearby who started chattering about it, and when they saw Bryant still talking about it with Bennett, they yelled to Bryant that they had seen it. Bryant acknowledged them - and was happy that he had witnesses.

while it may be somewhat impressive- these are athletes and i'm not saying its not...if he is wearing receivers gloves, the catch isnt that fantastic. the palms of various brands are very sticky like for the leather of a football,i've seen them, i've used them. It makes catching that much easier.

Mark Sanchez did the same thing on Hard Knocks...thats right QB Sanchez.

Its practice. Its insane the finger tip and miracle catches that happen there. Whether he can do that with a Safety bearing down on him and a CB in his face is the question.
Best reason to have a license.

i think once back in the day Lakers had a PF named Derek Strong I believe. A bench player who wasnt used for nothign more then a big body.

Anyways during warmups my friends saw him hit like 7 3s in a row. Mfer avged like 6 mins a game and never hit a shot outside of 12 ft.

athletes are athletes. They do the same things over and over and over again in practice. But , depending on their teams situation or actual in game execution/thought process/ responsibility, they all dont score allot. theres plenty of guys in the NBA who dont score much because they know if they do, their average will be expected to go up year after year. And if it doesnt, theyll be thought of as weakening so the next contract wont be as good.
