Initial thoughts about the ND game:

-Crist needs to work on his deep accuracy. Those two passes intended for Floyd in the endzone were bad. That needs to be better.
-Offensive tackles need to do a better job, Dever in particular.
-Allen and Wood looked good running the ball.
-Defense looked solid, but I want to see them next week. ND shut out Nevada last year only to show their true colors in the next few games.
-Encouraged by the pass rush by the d-line.
-Corners looked solid. Gray seemed to be at the ball carrier often.

The center-QB exchange was also bad for most of the game. That shit should have been one of the first things squared away in camp.

I wasn't impressed with ND's defense at all. Dan Dierking of all people was gashing them. Dierking is trash. It was more about Purdue's playcalling being just abysmal in general (especially in the redzone/on 3rd and 4th downs) and terrible penalties. I swear on a 3rd & 5 in the redzone they came out lined up a wr at rb and tried to run the ball inside.

The ND defense wasn't great by any means. They got lucky on those two deep incompletions at the end of the game, and they also allowed Marve to extend some plays on some missed sack opportunities. As for Purdue's playcalling, it's par for the course as far as I'm concerned. I haven't been very impressed with it under Hope, and I wasn't impressed with it under Tiller.

Overall, there were signs of improvement in a lot of areas of ND's defense. However, I want to see how they perform over the next few weeks before I jump to any conclusions.
