    Bengals cut Antonio Bryant

#bengals release Antonio Bryant, Mike Windt. Gibril Wilson placed on IR

He signed a 4 year, $28 million deal w/ $8 million guaranteed but his knees are shot. He got $7 million to not play even a preseason down for the Bengals.

I think he's a boss anywhere. How's Cinci done this preseason? I know they have this stupendous on-paper offense, but how have they executed?

Carson Palmer is the reason the Bengals offense has been average IMO. He totally blows.

What do you think are the chances they replace him at the end of the season? Either through free agency or the draft?

Marvin Lewis has been the Bengals head coach for 7 whole seasons to this point and haven't won a playoff game and have had only 2 winning seasons. The Bengals are more than happy with mediocrity. Palmer is probably going to remain the Bengals QB going into 2011.

For comparison Buddy Ryan was the Eagles head coach from 86 through the 90 season. I believe he was fired because he didn't win in the playoffs. from 88-90 his Eagles were 1 and done in each playoff appearance. Thats 3 playoff appearances in 3 years compared to Lewis' 2 in 7. Back on topic though...

wasn't Lewis about to get fired last year but then the Bengals started doing well?

He was supposedly on the hot seat. Still, I mean it would've taken 4 straight seasons without making the playoffs to get fired?

I mean.. I find this shocking. Even I knew Antonio Bryant didn't have any knees, how the hell did the Bengals doctors not know this?

The Bengals free fall from division champs to a 6-10 team begins.
