Jeremiah Masoli's waiver for 2010 eligibility denied

LOL Miss...Looks like Masoli won't be able to play after all. Of course they'll appeal, but good fucking luck considering the typical stubbornness of the NCAA.

The NCAA has denied Mississippi quarterback Jeremiah Masoli's request for a waiver that would allow him to play immediately, meaning he won't be eligible until 2011.

    Here's my favorite quote:
"I'm just shocked and disappointed," Masoli said. "I've done everything I can to follow the rules."
Everything except for you know, obeying the law.

So much irony in him saying he followed all of the rules. Well, I guess there is a first time for everything.

Didn't Thomas get the starting job over Costa at Oregon already?

Houston Nutt practically became a shareholder in Kleenex brand products when he got his mitts on Masoli.

Now he has to crawl back to his bum QBs and look forward to Masoli deteriorating for a season.

In a press release, the NCAA said Masoli's request violated the intent of the waiver: "The waiver exists to provide relief to student-athletes who transfer for academic reasons to pursue graduate studies, not to avoid disciplinary measures at the previous university."

Yeah, based on that, his appeal has no shot. Should've gone to JUCO or just sat out the season, that way he could play wherever he wanted next year.

Looks like he's pretty much stuck at Ole Miss now.

Yeah, he was trying to be slick by claiming that Ole Miss was offering a graduate degree that Oregon wasn't offering. I guess technically he is right, but I guess the NCAA didn't like him exploiting the rule.

Yeah, it's a rule designed for guys who are actually in school for more than just sports, and clearly he was just exploiting a loophole. He would have never considered a transfer had he not gotten caught stealing shit. He'll lose the appeal, as well he should.
