So, the NCAA doesn't believe Masoli wants to pursue that degree in Parks and Recreation?

    What a bunch of hardasses!

Dozens of players at the 1A level exploit this every year.

Denying Masoli, but allowing (for example) Kirby Freeman to transfer free of charge is why the NCAA is a joke.

If you are going to allow some players to transfer despite impure reasons for said transfer, you should let everyone.

I don't remember. Was Freeman facing discplinary actions?

No. He lost his starting job and he wanted to transfer. Went to his dad's buddy's school (Art Briles, coach of Baylor) and got to play immediately (lost his job there, too, but that is irrelevant).

Fact is, the NCAA isn't in any way, shape, or form consistent with their regulations and everything is very subjective and is determined by whatever board member gets whatever random piece of paper.

Easy fix. Once you get your degree from an institution, and still have time remaining on your eligibility, you can transfer to whomever you want, as long as the school is willing to release you of your scholarship.

As is, that is basically what goes on, but the NCAA is subjective in its decision making.

But the NCAA's issue with Masoli is that he ran away from a school's disciplanary action

The schools disciplinary action is that they were going to "suspend" him...ie: kick him off the team for a certain amount of time...Masoli wanted to leave so he could play this year, Oregon released him of his scholarship (!) and he was able to enroll at Ole Miss.

Sure, he was escaping the schools discipline, but Oregon didn't want him around anyway...

No clue. That's why I asked.

All I know is that they have two talented kids, and the white one's like one or two years older/ahead of school than the black one. He's more experienced, but not as mobile.

                So... How about Ole Miss?

Wow, I guess I was wrong about his chances at appeal. WTF.

Yes, this is strange. I think he really adds something to the Ole Miss offense. Really strange turn of events.

Don't really care about Ole MIss but he seems like an explosive player, it'd be a shame in a football sense if he had to sit out a year.

Why, because he stole 1000s of dollars worth of other people's shit? It'd be a shame if he had to miss the year?

I don't know the story behind this, din't follow college sports at all.

And yeah, if this was the NFL he'd be suspended but would still see the field at some point. I want to see the best players on the field, or at least eventually on the field.

Yes he deserves to be suspended, but at the same time for just the college football fans or those who only watch the games, they rather see him play.

Masoli isn't that explosive, he's really not even that good. He's 5'10, 220 lb. with decent speed, average arm strength and questionable accuracy.
