Jettisoned by the Arizona Cardinals over the weekend, quarterback Matt Leinart(notes) has landed with the Houston Texans.
The former first-round draft pick has agreed to terms on a one-year deal, according to the Houston Chronicle, which reports that agent Tom Condon has confirmed the pending contract.
Leinart fell out of favor with Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt and didn't draw heavy interest as a free agent.
The Texans have an established starter in Matt Schaub(notes).
However, Dan Orlovsky(notes) struggled as a backup this preseason.
Now, Leinart will assume the backup spot and Orlovsky will be demoted to the third spot.
