I'm not sure Bill Belichick could get nine wins out of that team.
    They're simply not very talented.
All their receivers, except for Olsen, pretty much suck.
Forte and Taylor looked great/good yesterday.
    Their O-Line sucks.

I picked Detroit against the spread in that game, and was expecting an upset.

I don't think anyone, outside of hardcore Bears' fans, thinks that team is anything other than a 6-8 win team.

Then again, I picked Oakland and San Francisco to win their division this year - what the fuck do I know.

I think the worst thing is that they suck on the offensive line. This whole Lovie/Jerry Angelo era needs to end and now. They talent evaluation and development has been awful.

The best true WR on the team, Aromoshudu is still only the #3 WR because the team likes Hester and Knox better.

Replace hardcore with retarded. I'm about as hardcore as it gets and really don't expect this team to win more than 5 or 6.

LOL first off, the guy saying "going for additional yardage" isnt an announcer, he's the VP of NFL officiating

Same thing sort happened to WR Louis Murphy (OAK) Last Season vs San Diego, and he fully goes over the interpretation of the rule, mind you this is from week 1 LAST season

Probably should have been a TD. However, I don't feel bad for the Lions at all. Since Stafford got hurt they did not muster up 1 first down until the final minute of the game. Plenty of opportunities for them to throw the dirt into the grave in which the Bears voluntarily lied in. They just didn't.

End of the year when we're fighting for a playoff spot, I'll be thankful to have this supposedly "easy" division win under our belt.

Really? Did you not watch the same game I was watching yesterday? If Stafford stays in that game we win it. No doubt in my mind. You guys got lucky he was hurt and that some quirky NFL rule got you the game.

The Bears played like shit yesterday.

But he didn't stay in the game and he got injured.

The NFL isn't a "what if" type of thing to discuss. It's win or loss, touchdown or no touchdown, separated shoulder or no separated shoulder.

Personally, I am disgusted with Matt Stafford. He played well while he was in the game I suppose. The entire time he was in...Calvin Johnson had 0 catches. Stafford got injured right before halftime. How in the world was he not targeting him and getting him the ball against our shitty ass secondary? Johnson should have had 15 catches. Please watch some pre-season footage of our starting defense and how atrocious they were.

No reason Calvin Johnson should muster 1 point for me in Fantasy Football. :orton:

Also I know we played like shit. I think overall the play was "solid" I just think Olsen/Forte's fumbles in the redzone were pretty costly. Those happened while Stafford was still in the game. If this is a "what if" discussion....I will say that if those fumbles don't happen....we win the game But...we won anyway.

Your offense wasn't doign jack shit with Stafford in the game and the only reason you were winning was because of a couple fumbles. It had less to do with Stafford and more to do with the Bears not being able to hold onto the football. Stafford had passed for a whopping 85 yards at the half and your running game wasn't doing much of anything. The Bears defense isn't as dominating with Stafford in the game in the second half but he wasn't exactly doing a whole hell of a lot before he got hurt.

There's no way the Bears are playoff contenders in any form. It was a pretty pathetic showing by both teams, but if they can't beat a team who had maybe 3 first downs in one half, there's no way they'll beat the Vikings and Packers.

You're inability to score touchdowns in the red zone is also pretty costly. What is it like getting stopped 4 times on the half yard line by the Lions?

If you didn't notice Linehan, our offensive coordinator, was calling a bunch of short passing plays likely to be able to stretch the field in the second half and look for Calvin. I was not pleased at all with what we were doing offensively in the first half as we should've looked to stretch the field early and often.

You're right though, the NFL is not a what-if scenario. Unfortunately it took a ruling that in actual football is a touchdown, but in the NFL is not. Oh well, if Stafford is healthy then I'm definitely looking forward to our rematch in December.

It took a hurt QB and using one of the most ridiculous rules in the NFL to win that game for you. Good luck making the playoffs like that.

The Bears will get to 5 MAYBE 6 wins.

7 Wins would be a miracle for this team given their complete inability to block anyone and the schedule they play.

I'd call it a toss up but thats coming from a Lions fan perspective. The Lions were setting themselves up to really air it out in the second half. The fumbles were huge though. In reality the game was seriously a colossal failure on the part of both teams. I'm really not all that upset about the loss, losing Stafford was worse than the Calvin Johnson call.
