Starting to question the Jake Locker hype

Teams weren't really ever impressed with his stats. He's always been seen as a project quarterback.

HE plays in the PAC10 for gods sake, which is barely better then the MWC... That should be enough to call a spade a spade.

#1 hype? Eh.. that remains to be seen.. the kid could light up the offseason workouts and combine and work his way back up to the top.

I think Mallett has probably lapped him though this season. Andrew Luck may be doing the same as well.

And the overrating will continue there. Forgetting, that it counts on Saturdays and Sundays. Not in t-shirts and shorts.

Jake was meant to be a runner. Not a passer. I believe that now, more than ever.

Been saying this forever, he is not a good quarterback and he never will be. He blew the game against BYU and played awful yesterday. How bad will he do against NFL teams? Not leaving for the draft killed his draft stock, I doubt he is even a first round pick come next draft.

5 Pac-10 teams are ranked and a top 10 team just lost to a Pac-10 school.

            You're an idiot.

stats mean shit its more about your height, strength, leadership, and smarts + it also helps if your coach implements a pro style offense

I've been worried about Locker since the beginning. The thought of him in Buffalo getting 60+ million guarenteed scares the shit out of me.

Not to mention #11 Wisconsin barely beating ASU 20-19.

                  PAC-10 this weekend:
#5 Oregon over Portland State (lol) 69-0
Washington loses to #8 Nebraska 56-21
                  #24 Arizona over #9 Iowa 34-27
Arizona State loses to #11 Wisconsin 20-19
                  #18 USC over Minnesota 32-21
#19 Stanford over Wake Forest 68-24
                  UCLA over #23 Houston 31-13
#25 Oregon State over Louisville 35-28

So, the Pac-10 was 6-2 this weekend, upsetting one top-ten Big-10 team, and nearly upsetting one just outside the top ten. I wasn't impressed with SC against Minnesota, but we took it. Oregon beat down an FCS opponent... Washington was the lone anomaly.

We looked real strong this weekend.

In other news, non-AQ BSU (#3) beats Wyoming 51-6, non-AQ TCU (#4) beat Baylor 45-10... Texas (#6) was almost upset by a supposedly overmatched TTU team (24-14) and #7 Oklahoma almost lost to Air Force 27-24.

Anyway, I've been saying this shit about Locker. "But, no, he has a bad team. It's not his fault" etc, etc. He hasn't put up amazing stats, he hasn't shown the capability to take this team on his shoulder and do anything spectacular... He's not particularly bad, though, he just looks like shit against good teams. Haha. Which is basically the same thing. He'll get drafted too early and fall on his ass, don't worry. And while he's not looking like a top ten pick right now, when at all was Tebow looking like a round-one pick last year?

It's all about the combine in the modern NFL. Fuck what they actually do on the field. Like all the shit about QBs not wanting to do drills at the combine last year. Who gives a fuck? You have tape of them playing 11 to 14 games showing what they've got. Haha. Ridiculous.

If Buffalo is lucky, there will be rookie caps in place before that draft.

Don't forget that Nevada beat Cal 52-31 on Friday. That didn't help the PAC-10's image.

Bo Pelini's D is for real. But Locker is way overrated.

What I said about Locker in the preseason:
I agree. I went to the ND-Wash game last season(and saw him play in quite a few others) and the first thing that impresses you about Locker is his size. He's also a hell of an athlete. But I agree with you I'm not sure how good of a "quarterback" he is. You kind of wait for him to take over games and he never really does. He's not overly accurate, not overly fast, and hasn't really done much to "wow" people at the college level. He doesn't have any plays or throws that stick out as being "holy shit" type moments.

I think another offseason under Sark will do him a lot of good going into this season but up until this point he hasn't really jumped off the page at me and I'm not buying into the hype.
