It's not fair to use Cutler's previous seasons against him. He's finally running a real system. Even I'm surprised how quickly he's learning the offense - quite possibly better than even Kurt Warner.

youre laying it on a bit thick now dude.
whether its close or a blow out, I think the Pack wins Monday night.Comment

One of Cutler's strong points coming out of college was his intelligence, and ability to learn quickly - Kurt Warner's strong point made up for his lack of ability - heart.. Something Jay Cutler doesn't have, but if he ever gets it, Aaron Rodgers might get some competition in that division.
I'm a firm believer that the only coach that's capable of handling Jay Cutler, is Mike Martz - which is why I was hoping Chicago would have the balls to make the move. Their relationship should continue to grow, because they're a lot alike - but if Jay Cutler ever goes back to being Jay Cutler, Martz is the type of guy who won't hesitate about pulling the trigger - and that's what Cutler needs. A figure that's bigger than he is.
Okay, so it's Green Bay's division this year, but unless Chicago pulls a Detroit and doesn't bring Martz back - Jay Cutler is going to be scary good in his 2nd year with that system. Jay Cutler's willingness to take on Martz and the difficulty/baggage that comes with Martz, proves that Cutler is at least trying to grow up.
As for Aaron Rodgers - lol. You guys jump on bandwagons so fucking fast, it's laughable. If I remember correctly, Aaron Rodgers, much like Jay Cutler, hasn't done jack or shit in the postseason. Cutler hasn't gotten there, and Rodgers got his ass kicked by a far superior NFL quarterback in Kurt Warner. So, to say Jay Cutler is on the same level as Aron Rodgers, right now, isn't all that far fetched. I say Jay Cutler is the better NFL quarterback, right now.. Who the fuck is going to prove me wrong? Aaron Rodgers will have to.Comment

Mike Martz was even quoted saying that Jay Cutler has picked the offense up quicker than any QB he's ever worked with, including Kurt Warner. He's also 5x the athlete Kurt Warner ever hoped of being. The only thing that stands in jay Cutler's way of being a top 5 NFL quarterback, is Jay Cutler. Denver didn't have the coaching needed to fix what needed to be fixed with Cutler. Denver needs a guy like Kyle Orton (and lol @ anyone who thinks Orton is half the player Cutler is.)

not bad,.but in truth Rodgers is well ahead of Cutler on the learning curve. rodgers, like Warner came in late with an already large amount of untapped football wisdom. Last year, Rodgers graduated to the veteran level with flying colors.
Cutler may understand the plays to a degree but he is still just following what the chart says as opposed to really understanding it.
and quite frankly, i will go as far as to say that he is still waiting a beat too long to see his guy open as opposed to throwing to a spot.
all in all, this is great though. A Packers-Bears game where both appear to be good at the same time. Way too much passing though hahaComment

My only complaint with Cutler right now, is he holds onto the ball a bit too long at times. He needs to be quicker at making decisions, which should improve as the weeks go by. I'm curious how he's going to handle that one really bad game, which is bound to come - and see how he responds to it the following week.
But who says Chicago will even give Jay Cutler the opportunity to grow? If Chicago misses the playoffs, the entire coaching staff will probably get the boot, and if Chicago does continue to play well, and make the playoffs - Mike Martz shouldn't be coaching under Lovie Smith in 2011, IMO. Mike Martz should be a head coach right now. If he stays at OC and coaches under Lovie Smith, who is black, I'll lose some respect for the man.
Doesn't Dallas need a HC?Comment

I wouldnt put too much stock in Cutlers performance against Dallas. The Cowboys defense has been at the bottom of the turnover pile for the past decade and this year doesnt seem to be any different. Its like theyre allergic to getting turnovers. They can make any mediocre QB look good.Comment

The key to that game is the Bears offensive line. If they can't find a way to block Clay Matthews it won't even be close. If they do stop him and Cutler gets time, there will be big problems for the Packers.Comment

He made them better within the system yes, but all-pro is what i was lol'n. Yeah kitna threw for 4000 yards but a 1 to 1 TD to int ratio and no playoffs is hardly all-pro worthyComment
