Eric Wright cost Cleveland the game today

Watching portions of the Browns game today on the Red Zone channel and I kept seeing highlights of Eric Wright getting abused by Anquan Boldin. Yet, Wright continued to cover Boldin. Maybe the blame can be placed on Rob Ryan? I don't know, but, either way, the x-factor in that game today was Eric Wright's inability to cover Anquan Boldin.

He didn't cost me the game.

I'm winning my FF game because of him.

Maybe Boldin is just not a beneficiary of playing with Larry Fitzgerald and Kurt Warner like so many people said he was? I'd turn it around and say Boldin won the game for the Ravens.

If anything, blame should be placed on Rob, who, just like brother Rex, decided to let a DB single cover Boldin, something that can't be done...

A DB can single cover Boldin, just not Eric Wright or Kyle Wilson...

Not if it's genuine one on one coverage, with no safety help. Boldin's third TD today was an all out blitz, I like Boldin's odds against every DB not named Revis or Asomughua in that situation...

It's moronic playcalling. Like I posted last week, the way to beat the Ravens offense is to do what the Bengals did. Rush 4 and play coverage. Blitzing isn't going to work against Flacco and Boldin...that falls on Rob Ryan, not Wright...even though Wright is ass.

shit, i just posted this in the Hillis thread

The ravens 2nd TD drive where they hit on 2 blown coverages, then the TD pass were all on Wrights side of the field. As a fan idk if it was Wrights fault or not, but seeing him get burned time and time again tells me it was his fault.

id dont think hillis gained a yard in the 4th. The ravens know how to close out games and they did it again today
there were times when Wright covered Mason and even houshmanzada. He didnt get burned by them, but both made key catches against him. The ravens sure did target him....bigtime. Sheldon Brown kept his side quiet and i wish Bidden was used and kept wright off the field. He was really getting burned all game

the 3rd TD came against an all out blitz. Initially you think thats the call that allowed that TD. But when you saw the replay you see how pathetic Wright looked when covering Bolden. Wright totally bit on what was barely of double move. It was like a quick nudge to the corner, then into the post pattern. Well wright totally went corner and by the time he knew what happened, bolden was celebrating again.

the rest of the dee was pretty solid. Seneca played pretty good too, but when you dont have anyone to throw it too it tends to make things tough. Hillis was the offense. Give him and the Line credit for keeping the offense in the game

Anybody who claimed that was a fool, Boldins best season, apart from maybe 2005, was his rookie season the year before Fitzgerald was drafted, when he had the immortal Jeff Blake (No doubt a regular name in Nuk's Top 10 QB lists back in the day)/Josh McCown tag team throwing him the ball.
