So I just got done watching DEN/IND...

...and that had to be the least effective 400 yard passing day i've ever seen, by the awful Kyle Orton, mustering only 13 points in a 27-13 loss.

It looked like the Colts followed the exact same gameplan that worked the last time they played Denver. Give Orton all of the underneath, insignificant garbo that he loves to throw, and watch them never score. Just like the Brandon Marshall 20 catch game vs. the Colts last year, where Marshall caught a bunch of 4 yard outs and bubble screens, and the Broncos lost 28-16.

Orton threw one nice TD pass to Lloyd, and the rest was dink and dunk junk that amounted to nothing. Might as well trot Tebow out there to run into the back of his center for one yard gains.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree when you are putting blame on Orton. I don't think he's a very good QB, but I don't think you can name another NFL player who gets more out of his limited talent than Orton. The guy threw for almost 500 yards, and his big WR "threats" were Brandon Lloyd and Jabar Gaffney.

Of the multitude of things wrong with Denver, Orton isn't one of them.

I still think the Hillis/Quinn trade was a good move. Quinn will probably never amount to anything, but trading a run of the mill RB who is caught between two positions, for a first round caliber QB, when Kyle Orton is your starter, is well worth the gamble. It's much harder to find a QB than to find a goaline RB.

Now, if you want to tell me that trading for Quinn AND drafting Tebow makes no sense, i'll hop on board with that.

            3 games, 1078 yards, 8.6 Y/A, 66.4% completed, 4 TDs, 2 INTs.

Throwing the ball to Jabar Gaffney and Brandon Lloyd.

With useless RBs like Moreno and Maroney behind him.

Also managed to survive a few years under Ron Turner w/o ruining his career.
