Blanda had a career unlike any other NFL player. He won league MVP awards in 1961 and 1970, and in addition to the large gap in time between the awards, he won the awards in completely different fashions. He basically broke all the passing records in 1961 and won the MVP for directing the Houston Oilers to the AFL title. In 1970, Blanda won five games in a row in the last minute with his quarterbacking and kicking.
