I don't know about you, but I prefer a coach who will defend his players and take the blame for shit over one who demonstratively responds to every mistake we make.

You're the coach, act like an adult, guy.

I heart Mike Smith so much more.
        You'd love this guy.

I did love him, when he was our defensive coordinator 8 years ago of course.

I like Gottlieb 90% of the time. He, van Pelt, Kenny & Coleman are about the only ESPN Radio guys I can stomach.

And I find nothing wrong w/the questions he asked Mora. Is this Mora's 1st interview? He knows how the game is played. Reporters are supposed to ask for definitive opinions from their guests. & its the interview's choice as to whether to play it PC or be forthright.

By Vick's own admission, he didn't do all he could have in Atlanta to be the best QB he could be. So the natural implication is that Mora's tenure in Atlanta suffered because of that. That can't be denied. If Mora wants to play it coy, fine. Gottlieb knows how the game is played.

Then Mora gets upset about being asked about McNabb vs Philly fans? Does he know what week this is??? What did he think he was going to be asked? He could have just deflected the question like most commentators have done since McNabb was sent to Washington. Again I ask, is this Mora's 1st interview???? Very unprofessional.

im glad mora handled it the way he did. there are way to many sports radio people, to many journalist and way way to many bad announcers in this world. These guys ask the most idiotic questions like this question he asked mora.

                    Great post.

Remember, ESPN Radio is hardly free form radio. Cowherd makes mention of this all the time, how he (and everyone else) is basically instructed to talk about certain topics. Whether it's the non stop Favre coverage, or in the case of this week, this McNabb stuff, this is what ESPN does.

the Brain is right. Mora had to know he was going to get these innocuous McNabb/Vick questions. If he doesnt want to play the game, he should refuse the bookings. He's been around long enough to know that these interviews are loaded with insipid nonsense that nobody cares about. It's what these guys do, it's easier than coming up with anything thought provoking.

Yeah but that wouldn't have been nearly as funny. I'm glad he chose to handle it the way he did. Much more entertaining.

Yeah, do people think that Pedro Gomez WANTS to report on Barry Bonds every day? Or that Sal Paolantonio WANTS to put out the worst NFL book I've ever read?

I use to feel so bad for Gomez. You have to follow around a shithead who doesn't answer questions and give daily reports about it.

Sal Pal basically rolls out of bed, heads to Lincoln Financial Veterans Stadium or whatever the hell it's called, and pretends to report stuff - "Boomer, the Eagles host the G-Men today, it wat should be a classic NFC East showdown. Andy Reid told me this morning he feels good about today's game. Back to you."

Why in the world anyone still listen's to ESPN radio is beyond my understanding. The entire ESPN network is a bunch of fucktards.

I watched a an hour of SC on Sunday morning and couldn't believe how horrendous it has become now.

I haven't had cable for almost 2 years now, so no SC for almost 2 years.
