    Didn't win shit?

There are probably 29 other quarterbacks in the NFL right now who would kill for McNabb's career.
OK, he didn't win the Super Bowl, but let's be honest ... not one of those Philly teams during McNabb's career was good enough to win a Super Bowl. And it was more than just the QB, it was the playcalling, the mediocre WRs, the predictability on O and D.
    It was more than McNabb.
McNabb has nothing to apologize for. He's had a Hall of Fame career and a W-L most would kill for.

It's sad he never won the big one, to be sure, but it doesn't destroy a great career.

Same deal for those Buffalo Bills teams of the early 90s. Yeah, they lost four Super Bowls, but those Bills teams were outstanding. They just happened to run into three superior teams in four of those games. I still maintain the Bills were a better team than the Giants in 1990, but a loss is a loss.

For all you fags who bash McNabb for whatever, all I say is look at every stat. The man is a winner ... and at least 29 NFL teams, if offered a QB with those numbers for the next 10 years, would jump in a heartbeat.

You could almost (and I know I'll get killed for this) make an argument that McNabb was the third most productive QB of the 2000s, behind Manning and Brady.

I stopped being an Eagles fan after the whole TO vs. McNabb drama. As a kid, they were always good enough to make it to the NFC playoffs and then McNabb choked. I hate McNabb, I really do. I feel as though I'm falling back in love with the Eagles now that he's gone. This is what I think of when I think McNabb:

Part of Vick being Vick is running the ball.
So you suggest he become Peyton Manning?

Please Jeffersondavis, get a fucking grip?

Vick does not deserve blame for giving his best effort and getting injured.

          You are a moron.

          That is all.

LOL what are you talking about? You really expect Vick to stay in the pocket now? What makes him good is his abilities as a playmaker. If we wanted a one-dimensional QB, we'd start Kevin Kolb.

You turned your back on your team for one guy who was the best QB and probably among the greatest players to play in the franchise? Yet, now you want to comeback?

Donovan McNabb tried to say the polite things after he helped the Washington Redskins defeat his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in his return to Pennsylvania on Sunday.

"Everyone makes mistakes in their lifetime," McNabb said, "but they made one last year."

                  Lets not go overboard.

Philly made it to the NFC Championship game 4 years in a row. In 2001, if they beat the Rams, I think they had the ability to beat the 2001 Patriots. They had a much better defense. In 2002, they probably had the best team in the NFL. The fact that they didn't win the Super Bowl that year is somewhat surprising. In 2003, they played horrible against a somewhat mediocre Carolina squad. But had they beaten Carolina and gotten up against a flat Patriots team that barely held off the Panthers, they could have easily won the Super Bowl. In 2004, they did make the Super Bowl, they did play the Patriots, and they almost won.

And lets be real here. McNabb was a nice QB who put up decent numbers, but unless there is some Kurt Warner/Cardinals type explosion in Washington, there is no way in heck McNabb is a Hall of Fame QB. And I don't even have to get into the statistical shortcomings...just watch McNabb play. If you think you are watching greatness when you watch McNabb, then we should probably prepare the Aaron Brooks bust for Canton, too.
