This is exactly what I've been thinking.

The Bears offense is better than last season, there is no doubt about that in my opinion, but teams are just starting to get a look at the Bears offense with Martz calling the shots.

Once teams get more film tape and start to pick up on Cutler's tendencies and realize just how bad that OLine is, the Bears are done.

Luckily for them, they don't play many tough games on the road, where I think they'll struggle mightily behind that OLine and Cutler's piss poor decision making.

The Giants are a good team. They are going to be in the hunt in that division.

No team in the NFL looks unbeatable right now. We are seeing a lot of scrappy football.

Actually, I take that back, Pittsburgh looks like the best team in the league right now. They're going to be downright scary when Ben gets back in a couple weeks.

Like I said in the NFL Thoughts Thread, seeing what the Giants did to Cutler after Martz picked our defense apart when Wade stopped bringing to pressure is infuriating.

That's gonna come back and bite us...

Except Martz was picking your blitzes apart eventually when you brought them.

The Giants were getting pressure from their front 4 and could drop 7 guys into coverage most times.

        It wasn't the same situation.

Which has been the blueprint to beat Martz for a decade. People act like this was some sort of revelation.

What an overeaction to last nights game, but that's what people do around here when it comes to Cutler & Orton.

And as predicted, it's taken ONE LOSS for the media & fans to turn on Martz. "He doesnt protect QB's!"

Next week: "He doesnt run the ball!!"

In two weeks when they win: "Martz offense on fire!"

            No he wasn't.

Bears only started putting points on the board when the pressure stopped coming. They got some yards with the one step drops and getting the ball out right away (which I'm shocked they didn't try last night), but the majority of the damage was done when Cutler had time.

            Sucks.

              Exactly.

If any team can generate a pass rush with 4 guys like the Giants had last night and drop 7 guys into coverage. I don't care who the OC or QB is.....it's going to be ugly.

                Bull shit.

Go back and watch the game. The Olsen TD drive was basically 3 or 4 passes against blitzes that resutled in the TD.

This is the shit i'm talking about. The Bears have NOTHING to do with the Broncos.

Broncos fans are so insecure about Cutler, collectively poking their Cutler voodoo dolls, hoping and praying Cutler looks as bad as possible. It makes you guys come off like the high school slut who got dumped by the homecoming king, is now dating the punk who spends all day in shop class, but is still obsessed with the prom king, and waits for him to get a black eye so she can say "see! he's ugly anyway!".

Orton is the punk who spends all day in shop class. Ultimately, he's going nowhere. No guarantee the Homecoming King ends up making six figures, but you sure like your chances better.

                    This.

At first I thought it was just a running joke/gag.

Now it's just kind of sad and obsessive.

The Olsen TD came off the drive where Wade foolishly tried the pooch kick that gave Chicago the ball past midfield.

Olsen ran free because Brooking and James miscommunicated on who was covering him (not that either one of them could run with him anyway). There was no blitz. Both LBs and Wade said as much later.

LOL @ "3 or 4 passes beat the blitz". You started at you own 42

                      Code:
18-D.Buehler kicks 28 yards from DAL 30 to CHI 42, fair catch by 26-T.Jennings. Pooch kick.
1-10-CHI 42 (2:44) 6-J.Cutler pass short right to 29-C.Taylor to CHI 42 for no gain (56-B.James). Pass caught in the flat.

2-10-CHI 42 (2:02) 6-J.Cutler pass short left to 23-D.Hester to DAL 39 for 19 yards (51-K.Brooking). Pass complete on skinny post.

                      1-10-DAL 39 (1:17) 6-J.Cutler pass short middle to 82-G.Olsen for 39 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

You have to admit that it was a pretty spectacular loss. 9 sacks in one half? I've never seen anything like it. Not from the 85 Bears, the Steel Curtain, anybody. The Bears had two QBs literally knocked out. If the Bears don't have Cutler, they are done.

Has nothing to do with if the Cowboys blitzed or not.

This was partially for the reason above. Wade decided to try and back guys off, but there were way too many lapses in the secondary. Alab Ball looked like a Ken Hamlin-type liability. Jenkins played his worst game since being named the starter. On Olsen's long TD, Wade sent Brooking and James on the blitz while having all the DB's about 10 yards off the ball. No one followed Olsen.

Again, they tried to counter the quick-toss the Bears were playing and subsequently got burned over the top.

A big portion of blame also goes to Wade for attempting that stupid pooch kick after Dez's TD when momentum was squarely on the Cowboys' side.

Last thought - 47 pass attempts in the first game, 51 in this game. I'm beyond fed up with Jason Garrett.:pissed:

Instead we play 10 yards off and allow Cutler to take a 1 step drop and throw. It was horrendous really. But it is still early and I am not going to throw in the towel yet (although I might be one of the few).

                          It's on the coaches.

Namely the DB coach (The immortal Dave Campo) and defensive coordinator.

                            It was surreal to watch.

But it's not as if the Bears havent had o-line problems going much further back than this year.

The Bears have been playing with fire all season. Cutler was neatly killed in a similar manner in the first Q vs. the Cowboys, and has been dancing pressure all year.

This is a team with a very shaky o-line, and sub par WR's. I mean, they didnt even bother to go get depth guys who know the system, and MANY were available - Holt, Curtis, McDonald, Furrey, Looker etc.

It's important to note that the Bears OL didn't look all that bad against the Cowboys or Packers, two teams that run the 3-4 and run it pretty darn well, and then looked like complete shit against a 4-3 team like the Giants.
