Who's a bigger threat...Randy Moss or Bernard Berrian? That's all that matters. He's not Randy Moss of old, but he's still a productive weapon each and every week.

Wasn't that pretty much your exact same quote on the Vikings signing Favre last year as well? Guess if you say it every year eventually it will have to come true.

Adam Schefter just reported that no contract talks have begun with Moss and no deal is imminent. Vikings could really use the weaponry.

lol @ all this "he's not randy moss of old" shit.

I've seen Moss run a few times this year and he looks just as fast as he always has.

Teams still roll coverage toward Moss and usually play with a safety over the top or shaded toward his side. Why do you think Aaron Hernandez is hauling in 40 yard catches every week and Wes Welker is getting 10 balls a week.

Factor in Adrian Peterson and defenses won't be able to just sit back with their safeties like they do vs. the Patriots, who have no run game whatsoever.

I don't care if you think Moss has lost a step, I guarantee you no team wants to see him 1 on 1 with their CB and running streaks all day.

I think contract talks are already underway per CNNSI.com. Here's Shefter's tweet update from 15 minutes ago-

@Adam_Schefter Two well-placed NFL sources predicting tonight that the Randy Moss-to-Minnesota trade will be consummated Wednesday.
I think this has a legitimate chance of happening since the Vikings were willing to give the asking price for Vincent Jackson a few weeks ago and AJ Smith just sat on his hands until the league deadline expired. They are committed to getting another WR on the field for this year to help make a run for the title.

Yeah I think it's only a matter of time now.

The Patriots don't just engage in trade talks for shits and giggles. When they are involved in a deal, a player is usually dealt.

The Vikings know they have to make a move right now and they have a shot at the division. Neither the Bears or Packers look all that much better than the Vikings.

This is going to be awesome. I love NFL blockbuster trades.

Has Revis been ruled out this week or is he due back?

How sweet would it be if Moss got dealt to the Vikes and goes up against Revis again on MNF. Favre, Revis, Moss, LT, Sanchez..Jon Gruden's head might explode.

The NFL = We Know Drama.

I could see the Patriots doing this.
Belichick is not sentimental whatsoever (see Lawyer Milloy and Richard Seymour).
Randy Moss is a rapidly depreciating asset.
Wes Welker gonna get his 10 catches a game whether Moss is there or not - and, frankly, Moss is like an overpaid decoy in New England now.

I'm not sure some of you even notice what is really going on here.

Moss is being traded and not re-signed by the PAtriots because they have too many big names up. Mankins is holding out, Brady, Matt Light, etc. Also, the Patriots are incredibly deep on offense. Belicheat wants to get Tate on the field, guy is explosive, not to mention the two rookie TE's who have both showed a shitload of potential. So the Pats are going to get something for Moss, rather then get nothing when they release him in the offseason. I don't think it has at all to do with his level of play. The move from the Vikings standpoint is just a sense of urgency from management seeing they started slow....

Let's all hope this shit doesn't work out how they planned... cuz if the Vikings do well and Favre starts playing like last year we will have to deal with another whole offseason of Favre un-retiring talk

brady signed his extension. Mankins can hold out forever his time is up here and the Pats wont pay him. Light isnt a big name at all either, he is on the declining end of his career. Lay off the crack plz.

I agree they want tate to see the field more but what if he gets hurt? Then what lol. Trading Moss is not something I want to see unless they get a 2nd rounder and they draft a RB from Alabama with Raiders 1st pick and use 2nd rounder for some pass rush.

I seriously doubt they would draft a RB with that pick... there are plenty of later round guys that I'm sure they have their eyes on. That top 10 pick from the Raiders will most likely be on an Adrian Clayborn or Cameron Heyward. If Patrick Peterson is there maybe he is the pick, even tho they have invested heavily on the defense the past 2 drafts I don't see any scenario where they grab a RB in the top 10. They can get guys like Shane Vereen, Daniel Thomas, Noel Devine, Allen Bradford etc in the 2nd and later and prob still get as much production as they would need from the position, they prob want better options out of the backfield too.

And I know Brady signed his extension, thats why they won't spend money on Moss too, I meant the names were out and they weren't going to sign everybody back, Logan Mankins, Randy Moss, whoever, the Pats are turning over right now while still staying competitive, but they aren't dishing out to a bunch of 30+ players that want contract extensions.

RT @Adam_Schefter: Filed to ESPN: When the Randy Moss-to-Minnesota trade is completed later, Patriots will receive a third-round pick in return from Vikings.
