The Pats would have only received a compensatory 3rd round pick if they lost him in the off-season to FA. This way they receive the same compensation, but, at a higher slot in the 3rd round. Good move for both teams and this just shows the BB knows exactly what he's doing when making this deal and the compensation involved.

Horrible trade for the Patriots. But maybe they were backed into a corner? You'd think another NFL team would offer more than a 3rd rounder for Moss, but I might be wrong.

If they would have received a compensatory 3rd rnd pick if they lost him in free agency anyways why trade him for only a 3rd rnd pick? So they get maybe 15 picks earlier in the third round but don't get him for the final 12 games?

Whatever, awesome to see Moss back in a Vikings uniform, hopefully Rice will be back before seasons end, Harvin in the slot, Peterson in the backfield. Awesomeness.

my dad talked to drew rosenhouse (rice's agent) at the airport yesterday afternoon and he asked how sidney was doing. rosenhouse said he'll prolly be back mid-season whatever that means.
