    The Max Hall Era Begins

everyone who cares about the cardinals has already had their spirit broken. the team is historically bad. but people here in the valley are nuts about Hall. he played high school in Mesa, a shitty little suburb on the northeast side of the phoenix valley. nobody cares about mesa except for people who live in that shitty place. but i suppose that nobody gives a shit about the cardinals except people in arizona either, so it makes sense.

So who still wants to defend the idea that the level of QB play in the league right now isnt as bad as it's been in decades?

teams are making it to the Super Bowl with no running game and passing yards are as easy as stealing candy from a baby now, so...

That's because you have a small group of really, really good QB's, but the junk at the bottom has never been worse in recent memory.

The gap between #1 and #15 is large, and between #1 and #32 is disturbing.

Part of it is overexpansion, which is something you have to live with, but you end up with 5-10 guys starting who have no business doing so. It also leads to no depth. There are probably a half dozen decent backups in the entire league.

The other problem, is the death of the pocket QB at the lower levels. Even HS teams have converted to putting the best athlete at QB, an running some shitty variation of the spread option.

You act as if you're surprised. There are now 32 teams in the NFL, and nearly every college team has abandoned pro-style offenses.

          More teams=shallower talent pool
Less college prep=more lost causes/guys who don't even get a chance

Of course in the 1980s 3/4s of the teams had good QBs. There weren't teams in Carolina, Nashville and Jacksonville at that point.

Pretty much. The season was going to be a transition/wash regardless, so let him play it out with his conservative play or make the trade for Donovan McNabb instead of dicking with everyone by putting on this facade that Derek Anderson could have been a salvaged talent and had the "IT" factor. My guess is they are tanking for a QB, but this QB class doesn't look so hot aside from Luck right now so I don't really know what the hell they are planning to do. :dontknow:

We might even see John Skelton at some point this year.

the cardinals dont give a crap if this qb class looks good or not. they are tanking for a high draft pick qb on a rookie payscale. whether he works out or not, he does buy the powers that be time

Yeah I agree why would you start a rookie this early into the season? :obama:

Hmm...I might do a research project and find how many teams have started an undrafted rookie at QB. I don't think there can be that many times in NFL history when this has happened.

Matt Moore probably falls into that category.

He was Dallas' last cut in 2007 before starting some games for the Panthers.

Also, the Cardinals are retarded. How long until Fitz demands a trade?

I had hopes for all these "pocket" QBs that are being developed in college at the moment, but a lot of them have looked like shit so far.

I wish Max Hall the best. I hope he has a 1999 Kurt Warner-esk season. Unlikely of course.
