Unheralded guys who have impressed you this year...

Here are a few under-the-radar guys that I've seen who have impressed me this year.

    Jason Jones, #91 DT, Titans
    12 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 FF
A nice combination of speed, aggressiveness, and physicality. Unsung member on a tough Titans defense.

    Tim Jennings, #26 CB, Bears
    14 tackles, 1 FR
Has quickly become the Bears' best cover guy, and is very good and coming up to stop the run.

    Shaun Hill, #14 QB, Lions
1218 passing yards, 78 rushing yards, 8 TDs
Does well whenever I see him play. Surprisingly mobile.

    Peyton Hillis, #40 RB, Browns
350 yards rushing, 143 yards receiving, 5 TDs
Very hard-nosed runner who also is extremely agile. Have been impressed with his receiving ability.

    Malcolm Floyd, #80 WR, Chargers
    498 yards receiving, 3 TDs
I took him early in my fantasy draft. Has shown the ability to get open deep and has good hands.

    Jason Babin - 5.5 sacks, a career-high for him.

Dave Ball - 4.5 sacks, tied for a career-high for him.

22 sacks in 5 games for the Titans.

Jim Washburn is the best defensive line coach in the league.

      Tramon Williams, #38 CB, Packers
I think it's safe to say that through the first 5 games he has outplayed the reigning DPOY Charles Woodson. He has stepped up this season and proven that he can be a starting cornerback in the NFL.
*of course any time you have a guy causing the kind of havok in the backfield Clay Matthews is causing the secondary will always look good*

Tim Jennings was god awful at Indy

I haven't watched many Bears games this season but I'm shocked to see him down as an "unheralded guy"

He would have made my "Why are you in the NFL?" list two years ago

I'll wait a little longer before I say anything definitive about Tim Jennings. I watched the guy play for years with Indianapolis and more often then not I was left slamming my forehead against the coffee table.

however, since the guys been in Chicago I've heard nothing but positives, which brings me to start questioning the coaching staff defensively in Indianapolis even more so than I already am.

Do you know what "unheralded" means? I do not think it means what you think it means.

Shaun Smith - KC has looked solid on the DL every time I've watched the Chiefs.

Tamba Hali is not really "unheralded," but for some reason he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Guy is an absolute beast off the edge.

Clay Matthews had 10 sacks last year as a rookie.

He was good last year. Definitely been a monster this season though.

They are accounting for him. But as hard as he is to block in the first place and how relentless he is IDK how they can even stop him..

Yeah Matthews is constantly doubled but he goes hard for 4 quarters, every single play. He is just awesome to watch because he brings it every single down.

Alphonso Smith as played well for the Lions in the last 3 games. He's got three interceptions on the year, one in each of his last three games. He actually ran one back for a touchdown yesterday and then did his best Carlton Banks impression
