    Jay Cutler or Bears O-line?

I honestly haven't seen every Bears game this season... but I caught I believe 4 of them. The O-line does get blown up, about as often as most other o-lines. But Cutler always holds the ball really long.... and is it just me or does he never read the defense? What makes the great QB's great is reading where the rush is coming from and audibling the blocking assignments, I RARELY see Cutler doing that. I prob have no clue what I'm talking about but it's my gut feeling that the sacks are just as much if not more Cutler's fault as the o-line... am I right?

I'm pretty sure we already have a 3 page thread on the Bears offense but here is your answer:

Cutler has the same problem Big Ben used to have in terms of holding on to the ball too long and racking up a lot of sacks that get blamed on the O-line.

Cutler can't read the defenses, or isn't comfortable enough/knowledgeable enough with the Martz system to get rid of the ball quickly. The Bears usually don't keep anyone in to block and just go with the 5 offensive linemen in pass protection. If the defense brings 6 guys to rush the passer, it doesn't matter how good/bad your O-line is...someone is going to be free and Cutler needs to recognize this and get rid of the ball.

But I still think Martz needs to do more than shrug his shoulders every time Cutler gets sacked. He needs to take responsibility.
