Yeah they know the risk but that isn't stopping the government from getting involved or stopping players and their families from suing or demanding more benefits once they are retired.

Great post. I often wonder this as well. Every time I see a runningback being taken down by someone lunging at their knee I cringe, because that type of hit could end a players career. However, with the head injuries its pretty obvious it being lead by the medical community as they continue to investigate former football players' medical issues and that scares the NFL.

I've heard on ESPN radio that next year or the year after all players will be required to wear hip, knee, and thigh pads.

As Steelers LB James Harrison mulls his NFL future, one of the Browns he knocked out Sunday, WR/KR Joshua Cribbs, is offering a show of support for his AFC North rival and former college teammate. "I have no bad will towards LB James Harrison. That's what he's suppose to do knock people out, it's what makes him one of the best," Cribbs tweeted Wednesday. "I don't believe he intentionally wants to injure anyone, but it is apart of the game." Harrison was fined $75,000 for his hit on Cleveland WR Moh

Yeah, I hate when the league rushes legislation into practice in the middle of the season. It makes much more sense to hold the proposed rule changes til the offseason, especially when they deal with player safety.

            Oh, wait ...

There are very few times in the history of internet message boards when their is a clear cut worst poster. Usually there is a minimum of 2-3 retards who manage to out do each other, but not here. We've got you, with every post you prove how bad you are, never once slipping in a good on here or there like previous terrible posters do. Its amazing you can keep up this performance day in and day out.

Does this retirement and unretiring make James Harrison the black Brett Favre?
