I like the idea of us grabbing another corner and with Ozzies BPA ways it could happen. However, I think we grab a WR in either round 1 or 2 (Mason, Stallworth and Housh are leaving after this year. Leaving us with Boldin and David Reed...)
We may grab another tackle, seeing as Jared Gaithers days in Baltimore are running out.
I'll probably update this in a few weeks. Probably at mid season since we'll know for sure who are the best players in college football and how the rest of the NFL season should shake out. Keep the comments coming guys.
Taters.. you're my boy, but remove the disaster vs. Nebraska and Locker is looking great.
Yeah, yeah I know.. the rest of the teams he's gone up against, aside from Nebraska, aren't very special on D.. but considering what Locker has around him.. his numbers are very very impressive nonetheless.
I still love Jake Locker as an NFL QB. No, he's not like Bradford in his skillset. Bradford showed the best accuracy for a college QB since I can remember. Locker however has unlimited potential to be a very good player in this league though. All depending where he winds up of course.
I think Andrew Luck is the closest thing to a Sam Bradford. But Locker would be in the Joe Flacco type category for a QB. And Ryan Mallett looks everything like a whiter, leaner Jamarcus Russell. But that's just my interpretation of him.
Nonetheless, if Luck comes out.. he, Locker and Mallett are all Top 15 picks. Maybe even Top 10. The NFL is that deprived of talent at the quarterback position.
I'm sorry but I am not ever buying into the Locker hype. In 4 years he has not won shit and his numbers are not "very very impressive" this season. You do realize for the supposed Heisman finalist he has only one 100+ yard rushing game, and 3 games where he failed to get even 30 rushing yards. He ranks 86th in the nation in completion % and only 44th in yards.
Was his draft stock rising so rapidly because Coach Sark implemented a Pro-Style offense? I don't seem to understand here...He is not a winner, leader, he has poor accuracy and bad decision making. Maybe his arm strength and athleticism will carry him in the NFL? But I find it hard to believe that a project such as Locker deserves to be a Top 10 pick if he has not shown much improvement over the years at Washington.
It's not the Coug in me talking, I don't think he should go any earlier than the top-15 picks.
trying to figure out why you have the bungles taking a QB in both the 1st and 2nd rounds... i'd love the chiefs to get heyward but wish they could get a top tier receiver somehow..
