Thats like some guy who worked at flipping burgers at a McDonald's for 3 years with a 2 year community college degree getting signed to be an FBI agent as his second job.

IMHO.....he has no credibilty at all, either based on skills or experience to be hired as an analyst anywhere.
According to the radio, a job at McDonalds prepares you for a career in any job field.

I really like Brian Billick because he has a very smooth delivery.
I prefer the excitement of a Jaws-type voice, opposed to a monotone Joe Buck-type voice. I haven't heard much of Billick since he was the Ravens HC. While his voice was smooth, he often sounded like a dope to me. Maybe he's better in the booth.

Tim has forgotten more about football than any of us will ever know.

Being a QB in the NFL for any extended period of time affords you a wealth of insight on how this game is played that cant be matched. A hb , wr , de can give great insight but usually only shine when talking about there position. QBs have to know tendencies and the jobs of everyone on the field.
Outside of a coordinator or HC noones more qualified to analyze football then a smart NFL QB.

Whether or not they can convey there thoughts properly is what makes them good or bad. Tim does a good job IMO.

I have to say the only guy who I cringe with is Matt Millen. Hes the only guy that lost credibility with his NFL gig. I just cant take any of his player evaluations seriously.
His thought on rules, trends , plays etc are still fine with me.
Best reason to have a license.

The coaches show (?) on NFL network is one of my favorite watches over the years. It seems to be devoid of the BOOMS WHAPS HOOYOWWW that other shows sneak in with a wealth of insight.

Yeah, Millen was one of those Madden clones (think Bill Maas, Tim Ryan, etc) who actually was very good in his first stint, but is really bad now. He doesn't speak with the same bravado he'd used to, I really think the Lions job sucked the life out of him.

Yeah, I heard Millen arguing with Steve Young about the helmet-to-helmet hits and it was painfully bad. I got a mild concussion just listening to Millen try to make a point.

BTW, since we're on the subject, has anyone watched that show "The Experts" on ESPNU? It sees the CBS and FOX 5-man studio show crews and raises each. There are six guys sitting in chairs in a semi-circle, no desk mind you, and that toolbag ESPNU host Lowell Galindo walks around moderating it with some papers in his hand like he's Wolf fucking Blitzer.

Just an unbelievably pointless show. Six guys sitting around an empty room talking while another guy wanders around mediating the discussion.

I doubt many people watch it, but it'll probably never get canceled due to how cheap it must be to produce.

The exact same thing can be said for coaches in all sports. There are a bunch of great coaches who were never great players and in fact terrible players. Just because you don't have the physical talent doesn't mean you don't have a great understanding for the game and the keen ability to help others understand the game.

So basically, this thread is dumb.

He's not respectable until he does a mock draft and dubs it the "Hasselmock".
