The Wussification of Football is spreading

Former NFL Quarterback Scott Mitchell is now the head coach of a high school in Utah and cancelled their upcoming game in order to rest for the playoffs. I'd be seriously pissed off if I was a player on that team. 99% of kids in HS are playing because they love the game and not letting them play because you want to beef up your coaching credentials with a long playoff run is weak.

High school footbal is taken way to seriously. Mitchell should take the opportunity to play some of the backups and JV guys who never get palying time. They work just as hard in practice, it would probably mean a lot to them.

      A little silly?

Okay, you don't want to have your important players get hurt, that's understandable. Why wouldn't you just play the game with all your scrub players? It allows them to get playing time that they have been working their ass off for and none of your star players can get injured.

On top of that, if one of your JV or bench players makes an amazing play or they win the game the entire team can rally around it. It can only help the team.

Do not fucking question Scott Mitchell's decision making ability.

Was I mad when the colts chose to quit in a game because they didn't NEED it? Sure, but hell at least that was still a chase at perfection, this team has already lost a game and gains nothing substantive by playing the game.

If they want to cancel it, so be it, I wont give two shits about it 5 seconds from now.
Right, but that's because your not one of the kids who practices all week for the game or a parent who just wants to watch their kid play. It doesn't affect any of us but its just the principal of canceling a HIGH SCHOOL GAME because your team is already in the playoffs and playing the game doesn't do anything for you.

Exactly what should've happened. Since both teams didn't really want to play, you throw out some back ups and younger guys and still play the game.
