Singletary to Start QB Troy Smith in London

It's just a pointless exercise IMO, and one that's an injustice to the two teams who have to make the trip. I don't know, let's ask Glen. Glen, with all the Broncos' problems right now, are you PUMPED UP to get to see your team play in London, England? Are you thrilled about the coolness of it all, the novelty?
Does it make you tingly inside to know that your 2-5 team is flying across the Atlantic to nobly serve as ambassadors to the NFL? How lucky you must feel.Comment

Great logic. "But when I bought stock in Enron, it was a great stock. The fact that it's now worthless is moot."

And those are just friendlies. These games actually count in the standings.

And the comparison between Enron and a pair of NFL teams....lmao
So I guess the only teams the NFL should book there are the Patriots, Steelers, Giants and any others that perennially win. Then when they end up going over as a losing team, people like you can bitch about how the NFL booked a bad match-up.

It sucks more for the Niners since they're the ones who have to lose a home game to this bullshit, but I've basically written off our chances next week because the NFL just tacked 16 hours of jet lag on both of these squads for no reason whatsoever.. Luckily we have a BYE the next week, but still as bad as Denver has looked and as beat up as we are a cross Atlantic flight isn't really what we need right now..
So in short... I have never been, nor will I ever be in favor of these games during the regular season in any sport. Get this BS out of the way in the pre-season, it's not like anyone in London would be able to tell if the starters or backups were in there in the first place. The same goes for starting a baseball season in Japan... Mindless PR bullshit.Comment

How did Troy do that? Billick elected to kick a FG rather than go for the GW TD in regulation than the Dolphins burned the Ravens defense for a 60+ yard TD in overtime.Comment
-
Did you even watch the game? Troy Smith "led" the Ravens to 3 points in the second half and overtime period against one of the worst defenses and worst teams in NFL history.Comment

His first drive he went 3 and out, then his second drive, when he got the ball with under 2 minutes left, he went 4/7 (and a spike) for 45 yards and got them to the 1 yard line where Billick elected to kick the tying FG with :12 left rather than go for a TD. Then, in OT, he completed his lone pass of the drive as the Ravens ran the ball down the field to set up a GW FG, which Matt Stover promptly missed from 44 yards out. Then, 3 plays later Greg Camirillo breaks free for a 65 yard game winning touchdown.
So, tell me, which part of that is Troy's fault?Comment

Could this be the first time two people from the same team end up on ''Nuk's Lulz Player/Coach of the week?''
Stay tuned.Comment
