And that bad behavior takes away good will instead of creating more nomatter what restaurant is catering.
I doubt Randy Moss was the first player to ever say something like that and I'm sure he won't be the last.

I'm a human being. I care how people are treated. And appalled when they are mistreated. Don't you?
Hurt feelings in a situation like this aren't that big a deal to me, no. And again, the guy is benefiting from it, so no, I'm not all that appalled. And the more I talk to people about this shit, I'm more of the opinion this story was fabricated to justify Childress being an idiot.

Thats a stretch. Moss did the same thing at a high level sponsor fundraiser here in NE. Put his headphones on and ignored everyone, even his own teammates, you know, the ones he misses and saluted. I highly doubt the catering situation is fabricated at all.

Cris Carter said last night on ESPN that he had witnessed Moss acting inappropriately before at team meals so he had no doubts that it was true.

MINNEAPOLIS — A restaurant whose food was sharply criticized by Randy Moss is giving the former Minnesota Vikings receiver something to chew on.

Tinucci’s in suburban Newport will offer free lunches today to the first 50 people who come to turn in their Moss jerseys. For everyone else, the lunch buffet will be marked down to $8.40, a takeoff on the receiver’s No. 84 jersey, co-owner Gus Tinucci said yesterday.

Tinucci said he was catering lunch for the players at the Vikings’ practice facility last Friday when Moss entered the locker room and looked at the buffet line.

“Randy came up to the table and said, ‘Who ordered this (expletive) stuff? I wouldn’t feed it this to my (expletive) dog,’ ” Tinucci recalled. He said the locker room went quiet and somebody told Moss to shut up. “We didn’t see him again. He didn’t eat and that was the end of it.”

Moss’s agent, Joel Segal, did not return a phone call seeking comment yesterday. Tinucci said he got an apology this week from a member of the Wilf family, which owns the Vikings.

The idea for the jersey turn-in came from local sports talk station KSTP-AM, which is a customer of the Tinucci family’s catering business and will broadcast live from today’s event, he said.

Tinucci is laughing off the disrespect from Moss, given the source. Vikings coach Brad Childress cut Moss on Monday, less than a month into his second stint in Minnesota. The Vikings lost three of the four games in which he played, and his cause wasn’t helped by his locker room behavior or postgame complaining Sunday.

The buffet incident has provided plenty of fodder for newspaper columns, talk radio and sports bloggers all week. Tinucci’s also got a thumbs up Wednesday from quarterback Brett Favre.

“I was sitting in my locker eating the food” when Moss complained, Favre told reporters. He added: “I thought it was pretty good.”

The jerseys will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs in Nashville, where the Titans claimed Moss off the waiver wire Wednesday.

The Tinucci family will also donate $500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Paul, and will ask today’s patrons for donations, too.

The food? It will be what Tinucci served the Vikings, including chicken, ribs and beef.

Maybe if people stood up, and it had consequences, it wouldn't happen so often. Accepting it, tolerating it, enabling it, definitely won't correct it.

You can't tolerate some pro athlete who has no bearing on your personal life was a douche to some restaurant owner that also has zero bearing to you? There is a lot worse shit going on in the world, I hope you don't take that personally too. If you care about everything awful that is tolerated around the globe, your stress level must be through the roof.

I'm emotionally stable. I can be and am appalled at the behavior, don't tolerate or excuse it, but I don't stress out over it. So it's too hard for you to control yourself over things like this that you choose to ignore and accept it?

Pretty big red herring argument. At the end of the day, this story, if true, isn't that big a deal on the grand scale of "things to be upset about". Bottom line is that Randy Moss is a dick and Brad Childress is an idiot for thinking he'd be anything else.

Agreed, and there are more important issues out there. I just won't excuse or tolerate that kind of behavior. Somebody getting murdered may be far more important, but I don't let that excuse or ignore other issues like this.

And, thanks for a civil discussion on this. We may agree on some of it, and also some significant disagreements, but thanks for the civil discussion.

watching Randy Moss in person for the first time yesterday was pretty disappointing. Ive always heard he didnt give any effort on run plays but it was amazing to see how shitty he was in person.

Yeah.. if his head is on straight and he wants to play, he's going to be a big weapon. But his head wasn't on straight playing BACK in Minnesota on a team LOADED with offensive talent. The only thing he was concerned about was how shitty some catered food was and how quick he could get back to New England.

Again.. 1 team out of 32, in a year where everything is wide ass open.. in a year where offensive production is down.. in a year where no team is a clear cut favorite right now in either conference.. ONE team out of 32 decided a 33 year old guy with 153 touchdowns and nearly 15,000 yards of receiving was worth $3.3M and a waiver wire pickup.

                              I think that speaks volumes.
