    Fire Scott Linehan

3rd down and 6 and we throw it. Could've just ran it and got the clock down to about 1:15-1:20 and then punted leaving the Jets with little time. Yet the fucking mental midget that is Linehan calls a play action boot leg for our third string QB.

Oh and cut Julian Peterson's retarded ass too.

Yea fire the offensive coordinator to the #1 scoring offense in the NFC. That play was solely on Stanton. If you can't 100% guarantee a completion, you take the sack. Instead he forced a shitty pass to a FB who doesn't have great hands.

He is an awful play caller. Awful. He's holding the team back to be honest. Some of those points are from the defense btw and racking up points in games we've already won.

He is a terrible play caller when it actually matters. No awareness at all.

That doesn't matter. It happened and you deal with it. Going for it on third down and Peterson's late hit cost us this game. Both were terrible mental errors. We were better physically then the Jets but they were much better mentally and thats why they won.

I don't put the loss on Linehan, this game and the game against the Giants, I have questioned his play calls. I love that we are competitive, but we are still unsure of how to win close games. The in-game management has been lacking at times, but I don't want to throw out the Schwartz or Linehan.

im a big stanton guy i wanted him to finish out the games last year when stafford was hurt, im also a clear stafford is the guy, guy also. That aside that was 100% on stanton not linehan. It was clear to everyone inlcuding those with the smallest football IQ that that was a roll out run with a pass option which was probably only if nobody was with in 10 yards of the receiver which was the case and stanton threw a turrible pass to felton.

You can't put a guy like Stanton in that situation though. Just hand it off and kill 40 seconds then call time out and punt it. It was so obvious, especially with Sanchez back there.

it was the right call though as much as you or i may not like it felton was wide open a good pass and were not even talking about this. they had the play in to go for the jugular as opposed to shaving another 30 seconds off by pounding it up the middle and it didnt work because of a horrible pass not because it was the wrong call.

How the fuck was it the right call? We would've shaved close to 50 seconds off by running the ball. Even if he catches it, he was still short of the first down. You cannot call that play when Stanton is in the game. You say we needed a good pass? Exactly and Stanton can't give you that. He's 3rd string for a reason. Why we're putting the game in the hands of a 3rd stringer who is cold is beyond me. Run the damn ball.

Here's what happens if Linehan was a smart coach. There was 2 minutes left in the game. We run the ball and probably kill 4 seconds on that before the play clock even starts. So we're at 1:56, you let it run down to one second and call a time out. Now we're at 1:17. You punt the ball, thats a good 7-9 seconds. I'll be generous, we're down to 1:10 at this point. The Jets have no time outs and have the ball at say the 25 yard line. This is about 40 seconds less then they had in the actual game.

Now what this means is the Jets can't exploit the middle of the field because they've got way less time on the clock and Sanchez is likely in a more frantic state because he has less time.

Maybe they do still get the field goal, maybe. But their chances would've decreased drastically without that additional 40 seconds. If we really believed in our defense thats what we would have done. However our coaching staff panicked and failed us when it mattered most. You run the ball up the damn gut, no need to get fancy and try and win the game like that. Especially when the other team is the Jets who you haven't been able to move the ball against the previous two drives.

Our coaching staff failed us at a critical moment by not properly evaluating the situation. This plan should've been in place the moment we got the ball back. We all knew exactly what type of situation we'd be in.

I was going to say what mgo did except with less detail. But taking 40-45 seconds off the clock on a run is better than a 50/50 pass play that would've done the same thing for us.

I knew they were going to throw it too. I told my dad as soon as we got the ball and started that possession how it would go down. His exact words were, "They're dumb, but they aren't that dumb."
