PB, technically he's 35, but he turns 36 in december, so I say he's 36.

I think I'm going to be sick..

According to McCarthy, it was a depth chart decision and not a physical one and that he believes he will definitely play again. Given how injuries have gone this season, all it takes is one of the corners to go down for that secondary to be in big trouble.

        This is fucking stupid.

If it's a depth chart decision, and Harris couldn't beat out the guys in front of him, then I don't understand your logic. They should release someone better to keep him just in case there is an injury? Shouldn't they keep the better player?

I love Al Harris, and maybe he is still good enough to play somewhere, but he is a 36 (in December) year old, that is trying to come back from the worst of the worst kind of Knee injury, at a position that requires speed, when speed was not his strength to begin with.

I say we just thank Al Harris for all the great years, wish him the very best. Maybe he will someday find his way back to GB as a coach.

I wonder if Packer fans will hate him and call him a traitor if he does go to minny.

It wont be of his choosing, if that's the case. He'll have to clear waivers, if he wants to choose who he signs with.

He'll clear waivers. No one will pick up his salary.

No, he didn't fake retirement, sabotage trades, go on Fox News, trying to force his release, in order to sign with a specific team.

What he did was play out his contract, work hard at trying to return from a devastating injury at 36, and get waived.

                      Completely different.

Obviously sad to see him go and wish him the best.

However, I pretty much agree with bucky. And if he does sign with the Vikings, oh well. He was struggling before the injuries to keep up with WRs. I can't see him doing any better now. At this point, he'll be serviceable at best IMO. He isn't shutting anyone down anymore and really hasn't in a couple years anyway.

If he wants to still play the game, we need a roster spot, and we couldn't get any value in a trade for him (obviously since the trade deadline has passed we can't), then this was the right move to make. And if he wants to sign with a team like the Vikings who are going nowhere this year and will most likely be dismantled next year, thats his prerogative.

Yeah, I saw that whoever did would pick up a base of 2.5 millioin. I'd rather see him play out of conference. But I'd settle with out of division. I dont want to not be able to cheer for him.

I can't believe he isn't a better player than Brandon Underwood or Pat Lee. The #3 corner position was Underwood's to lose in training camp and he lost it to an undrafted rookie. He's garbage. Even worse, he changed his number from 33 to 28, an infamous number if worn by a CB...

TT doesn't like to admit it when his draft picks don't pan out. Pat Lee is as big of a second round bust there can be. He Did this same BS last year with Aaron Rouse. He cut Anthony Smith last year to keep Rouse on the roster only to cut him a few weeks later. And lo and behold Anthony Smith is back on the roster.

It's been 3 years dude, let it go. Favre obviously was not as ready for the trash heap as Ted Thompson painted him out to be a few years ago. Both teams are better for it so I'm not sure why you have such venom for the person who brought the Packers from laughing stock to perennial playoff team during his 18 years there.

The 16th overall pick of the 2007 draft and his 18 career tackles and 0 sacks agree with you.
