    Midseason NFL Predictions

Ok, so every team has played half their season. What are your midseason predictions now that you've seen what the teams are doing?

    Here are mine.

    AFC Division Winners:

AFC East: New England Patriots - As much as the Jets have improved, the Patriots just keep making things happen. They have no running back to speak of really, but they still run the ball effectively when they want to. They have no receivers really, but they still pass the ball when they want to. The defense has been pretty solid all season despite clearly being in rebuilding mode. This season reminds me a lot of Tom Brady's first year as the starter and we all know how that turned out.

AFC North: Baltimore Ravens - The Steelers are good, don't get me wrong, but the Ravens have a toughness on offense and defense that no other team can really match. It doesn't really matter who wins this division to be honest since both the Steelers and Ravens will make the playoffs and both are tough road teams, but I think the Ravens win it out barely.

AFC South: Tennessee Titans - We haven't seen what they will do with Moss or if that will work out, and we all thought with the Vikings having arguably the best tailback in football the play action to Moss deep would have been magic, but I have a feeling that Jim Fisher will get what he wants out of this deal and make a nice run to end the season. The Colts have at least another couple of losses coming to them as well, so Titans by a hair.

AFC West: San Diego Chargers - Kansas City and Oakland have made vast improvements to their teams and this division could come down to the game played between them in week 17, but I have a feeling that San Diego is going to do what they always do and pop off a streak of 6+ wins to jump in front of the AFC West. They won't let it go and will be the only team from this division to make it into the playoffs.

First Round Byes: Tennessee and New England
Wildcard Matchups: Pittsburgh @ San Diego : Indianapolis @ Baltimore
Divisional Round: Pittsburgh @ Tennessee : Baltimore @ New England
AFC Championship: Pittsburgh @ New England

    NFC Division Winners:

NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles - The Eagles are magic with Mike Vick at QB. I can't think of a team that can defense them successfully if he stays healthy and plays the way he has this season. It has been electric and honestly I think he could win the MVP award if he finishes the season without getting hurt again. The Giants would seemingly have this division locked up with the way they've been playing recently, but I don't see they carrying this all the way to the end of the season.

NFC North: Green Bay Packers - When a team has a pass rusher like Clay Matthews they have a shot to win any game. Couple that with the passing of Aaron Rodgers and they can win it all. Forget the lack of a running game, the Packers have come up with a way to make the polished turd named Brandon Jackson look decent despite his average. They win the North easily.

NFC South: Tampa Bay Bucs - Now hear me out. The NFC South is voodoo cursed. Whenever a team is on top they drop to the bottom and vice versa the next year. It is a statistical fact. Atlanta is one injury away from losing this division and Tampa is solid. They win ugly better than any team I've seen in awhile. It reminds me of the old Tampa Bay teams with Shaun King and Mike Alstott. They're frustrating and fun to watch at the same time.

NFC West: St. Louis Rams - Seattle is in shambles, the Cards can't find a QB that doesn't favor throwing to the other colored jersey and the lone bright spot on the 49ers is Troy Smith. Normally I'd put "Who Cares" for the team winning this division, but St. Louis has played hard with virtually nothing and I hope they win just to spite all those people who didn't think Bradford could be an effective NFL QB after playing in the spread his whole college career.

First Round Byes: Green Bay and Philadelphia
Wildcard Matchups: New York @ Tampa Bay : Atlanta @ St. Louis
Divisional Round: New York @ Philadelphia : Atlanta @ Green Bay
    NFC Championship: Atlanta @ Philadelphia

    Hooray for Pennsylvania Super Bowls.

    Pittsburgh 27 - Phllly 17

Fun things to do while waiting for the laundry to finish.

I think the Rams are the obvious team to pull for in the West if you are a non biased observer, but the second half schedule is brutal, the QB is still a rookie despite playing pretty well through eight games, and they cant win road games. Throw in Spags losing one or two on his own with his unique brand of game management, and they probably fall short.

Stafford returns late in the year and injures his shoulder again.

I'm not going to get that in depth:

                Falcons over Giants
                Patriots over Ravens

                Falcons over Patriots

You know I've been on the Samwagon and the Ramswagon since week 1. You're right about the casual observer having no choice but to pull for the Rams. They're easily the most likable and watchable bunch out of that shithole division, and that's really amazing considering how brutal St. Louis was for the past three years.

I'll be pulling for the Rams to win the division, and looking forward to their inevitable clownstomping in the WC Round.

I don't understand why everyone is so high on Philadelphia. But that's just me.

I also think it's pretty funny how despite all the injuries the Packers have had they are still the midseason favorite to win the NFC North. The team's depth is starting to show up a bit and TT is looking more and more like a genius.

I'll just give a Superbowl prediction. I think it's going to come down to an unlikely team getting hot in the playoffs. I still really like Baltimore and I don't know why.
