Childress Offense too complicated for Brett

Brett Favre figures to have at least a little more freedom in the Vikings offense, now that the head coach he sometimes clashed with over strategy and play calls has been fired.

      He's probably right.

Not every NFL QB or WR, TE is a rocket scientist, you have to play to their strengths.

Didn't seem to have trouble grasping it last season?

Or was he just ignoring Chilly last season, so Childress deserved to be canned anyway.

wasnt that part of his justification for signing there? wasnt he pumping all kinds of shit through ed werder saying that the vikings run "our" offense? hasnt he been playing the same fucking playbook for his 20 year career?

like most of the stuff that comes out of Favre's mouth these days:

The title of this thread is what you want to believe, not what the article says. Brett said Childress over complicated things and that with all of the shuffling around that has occurred in the starting lineup at WR and other positions on the offense this season, a simpler gameplan could have helped reduce the number of errors.

If the offense was too complicated for him, he would have never gone for 4,000 yards, 33 TD's and 7 INT's last year but don't let the facts keep you from having a good chuckle.

Doesn't help when you refuse to do anything in the off season or go to camp.

This is called transferring the blame. It's the real national past time.

Brad Childress is too complex, but you threw for 4k last year. My god, I'd hate to think how poorly you'd have done in, say, Mike Holmgren's offense!

You guys are reading too much into this. Brett was simply saying that almost always, the plan is too complex. Too much to learn and perfect in too little time.

And how, exactly, is that any fun? If you're looking for rationality on this board, you haven't learned to VSN.

Only if you show up two months late every year ...

Seemed to work last year. He already had a season underneath him this year. It has 0% to do with showing up for the 3rd preseason game.
