So Mike Leach to Maryland is pretty much a done deal. I hope he still has his Texas recruiting ties.

I heard this and I think it is a great move, I knew someone would take a shot on Leach. Maryland is a great place for him and I think he will have quite a bit of success there, I've always been a fan of him.

Kent State hired Darrell Hazell to be their next Head Coach. Hazell was the Receivers Coach at Ohio State. Article here: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/s...=ESPNHeadlines

Receivers coach and Assistant head coach.

Hazell is a great coach... excellent teacher of the game, he's the one responsible for turning out NFL prospects like Santonio Holmes, Ted Ginn, Anthony Gonzalez, Roy Hall, Brian Robiskie, Brian Hartline and now Dane Sanzenbacher and DeVier Posey.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Hazell back in Columbus in 4-5 years as Tressel's successor.

So Friedgen is officially out at Maryland. He would not retire, so he was fired and the University will owe his his buyout. Mike Leach is the favorite, and definitely would bring some excitement to the program.

EDIT: Pete Lembo is in at Ball State. His name was new to the coaching search there, but he quickly became the favorite. Mainly because of a report last Thursday that he had been officially offered the job. He was the Head Coach at Elon and has found success at some lower levels. He runs a pass-heavy offense that is supposed to be "up-tempo" and he was quoted as saying; "We're known for throwing the football, but it's not just a drop-back passing game," he said. "It's a very sophisticated screen game and it's a fun offense to watch. At the places we've been it's allowed you to do more with less." More with less... welcome to the MAC.

Bruce Feldman reporting that had Franklin not left for Vandy, Friedgen would still have his job. Crazy that Malzahn turning them down set the dominoes in motion that were felt all the way in the ACC.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Steve Addazio leaves Gainesville to be the Head Coach at Temple. I'm sure some Florida fans are actually happy with this.

Maybe he should have stayed in Columbus a bit longer.

I heard a rumor (not sure how reliable) that Dantonio would consider leaving East Lansing for Ohio State, if the Tressel rumors end up being true.

Tressel rumors are not true. At all.

Confirmed by OSU AD Gene Smith on twitter. Absolutely ridiculous rumor in the first place.

Yes, I wasn't ready to give them much, but I wonder where they came from?

As for Addazio to Temple, Florida fans are definitely happy about this. I texted my sister to congratulate her.

Now if only some mid-major would hire away LSU's OC ....
