Vick wants a pet, just too funny

Let's have all Child Molesters adopt children.

Let's give all drunk drivers a bottle of Jack Daniels and a Ferrari.

    Is this guy serious?

Eh, put me in the group of people who don't compare Vicks acts to child molestation or drunken drivers. If Vick one day hopes to have a pet than good for him.

It's OK if you rank things in the order:

      Child Molester
      Drunk Driver
      Sadistic Dog Killer/Torturer.

      I would too. BUT...

Anyone that can do the things he did to those dogs should never own a pet, no-matter how you rank these.

I guess my point is that I don't put what Vick did in the same category as child molestation or drinking and driving, as both ruin or kill other human beings. Obviously what Vick did was grotesque, but given the circumstances of what he did and how he was punished I honestly can’t see him putting himself in that type of situation again. I don’t see Vick as a risk to animals.

OK, I'm fine with that. Same here.

Drunken drivers are punished too, and many times, even when no one is hurt or injured. Just pulled over and failed tests. Still shouldn't give them a bottle of booze and keys to a car.

I do. So I guess we disagree. Why not just make sure it doesn't happen.

Anyway, my guess is most VSN'ers will give Vick a pass, so I expect this to be a SHORT thread.

Hope your holidays are going well so far this year ralaw.

Agreed. Child molesters and drunken drivers are typically habitual offenders that are have issues mentally in someway shape or form and the issues that are psychological are in many ways incruable.

Which Vick obviously had a drastic moral compass issue with the dog fighting issue IMO it has a different causation than what typically leads to drunken driving and child molestation.

Doesn't mean he should be trusted with a pet.

Repeat offenders who molest children or drive drunk tend to have deeper issues that tend to be addictions.....I don't think Vick has an addiction. As I've mentioned before dogfighting is nothing new to me, so when Vick was caught doing it I really didn't understand the outrage. Dogfighting is simply what it is for many communities....it's seen as a sport, competition, etc and nothing more. Most of the people who engage in it are normal people that grew up in certain environments where it was normal, so to categorize them with child molesters or drunk drivers is a bit off to me.

You don't see Shooting, Drowning, Hanging, Beating dogs to death, along with fighting them to the death as "mental or psychological issues"?

Complete disagree that NORMAL people drown, electrocute, shoot, and beat to death dogs/pets. Nothing in there says normal to me. And if he did it over again, that says habitual. Gotta say, I completely disagree.

Vick's gone through a new therapy program. His dog killing days are over, he's right as rain.

As I said normal people who grow up in certain environments where dogfighting is a normal activity. When I say normal I'm obviously not talking about people from mainstream society who see their pets as contributing members of the family. You have to be sensitive to what normal is on an environmental basis. Not all people who engage in dogfighting are these crazy demented sociopathic lunatics that people make them out to be.

I would if they weren't directly influenced by social situations Vick grew up around.
