Just a refresher since playoffs are here. The wrinkle of course is a team can't just win the toss, and come down and kick a quick FG for the win. Maybe more teams go for the knockout TD on the first drive instead of settling for the 3.
Just a reminder: new NFL Playoff OT rules

The NFC championship 2010 rule. Don't know if I like it or not but I wish the NFL would make it the rule all of the time or none of the time. It's a little stupid to have different rules for different games depending on when they are played.Comment

Imagine if Hasselbeck had to say "We want the ball and we're gonna score, then stop them from scoring".
This rule is messing with history.Comment

Once the defender gains possession through an INT or fumble, that counts as a possession. So if he fumbles it back, and the other team has already scored, game over.Comment

No. It was fine the way it was to begin with. You get paid on both sides of the ball not just offense. Should have kept it the way it was, they are professional athletes who get paid to do a job not amateurs. You fuck up, there is no tomorrow.

i think it is. its way more exciting. the nfl rule is retarded. they should have just gave both teams 1 possession at least. what makes it dumb is if the first team scores a TD the 2nd team doesnt get a possession. Both should get 1 regardlessComment

The college rule is stupid in the pros. These are suppose to be THE BEST in THE WORLD. If a defense is not good enough to stop the offense, then they deserve to lose.
I don't mind the change, but it's enough...doesn't need more tweaking.
