Luck is one of my favorite players. As a great high school QB, he picked Stanford over other schools because he could get a great education, even though their football team sucked.

Now, as likely the last #1 overall pick while they still get paid $60 million, he decides to stay at school to finish college.

Been telling you guys this all season. It's not his fault that he was at the top of Mel and McShay's "big boards" all year, he never really wanted to leave. The only morons are the Carolina fans who assumed he was going pro.

Like has already been mentioned, his family is loaded. He's in no hurry to get to the NFL. Why not enjoy your life a bit longer and be the BMOC as long as you can?

There may not even be an NFL season next year, so Luck stays active.

Chance of injury, losing up to $40 million in guaranteed money, chance of stock falling... I don't care how loaded you are, $40 million is HUGE.

Kid made the right decision for him. He wanted his degree, and loved being a college student, can't say I blame him, this is the best time of my life, I can only imagine if I was the QB of a top 5 team and one of the top players in the country.

Wish he would've declared and been a Panther, but oh well. He's gonna be a great one wherever he goes, and one player that hasn't even played an NFL game won't make or break this franchise.

Meh, I'm sure he has a really high premium insurance policy already. Even if he has a career ending injury, he's probably insured for up to 5-10 million.

And yeah, college is the greatest time of your life. I thought I was doing the right thing by graduating on time, but looking back I kind of wish I would have done the Van Wilder thing.

Not in his position, or even a similar one, so it's hard to judge. Anyway, I think it'll work out. He's got two years left to do whatever he wants, and - like Dave said - there might not be an NFL season next year. I think there will be, but there's no real way to no for sure, at the moment.

Don't worry, when Carolina goes 2-14 again in 2011 they'll be able to draft Luck 1st overall.

A team hasn't had back-to-back #1 picks since 1999-00. Guess we'll see, but something tells me Carolina will find a way to win 3-4 games and some other team will win one or two.

Glad for Andrew Luck. I really have a great respect for players that want to stay in school and get their degree.

You really have only one shot at the type of money a 1st overall pick gets, especially when this is the last year before a rookie cap. I'm not saying he is an idiot or anything because if he is having fun at Stanford and doesn't worry about money, then go ahead and bone a million rich chicks in the Bay Area and live it up. But financially speaking, this could be the dumbest move of his life.

But he will still end up with a shit ton of money either way. More money than most people make in their lifetime.

We aren't even that bad of a team.

We got raped by injuries this year, and couple that with poor QB play and you have a recipe for disaster. We're actually a pretty talented and decent team.
